"Since this was a new restaurant I went in with tempered expectations, but I quickly discovered my new favorite sushi spot in downtown Los Angeles. The first thing you notice is the elegant ambiance and decor, next is the warm greeting from at least one server, and the engaged sushi chefs. A lot of thought went into the layout and it really shows. The food was an exhibition of fresh and vibrant ingredients, they know how to be a creative without straying too far off the path of classic Japanese cuisine. A little bit izakaya, a lot a bit sushi gem, I would feel confident in advising any friend to give it a try"See more

"I booked a table before we saw Paul McCartney at Dodger Stadium. It was perfect! Loved the spicey cucumber margeritas! A refreshing change. The four salsas were also fun to eat as an appetizer. I would come back here again. The building used to be a grand jewelry store, in the heart of the jewelry district. It is beautiful. It was an easy drive to park at Union Station and grab the shuttle to the stadium."See more

"Ray Garcia is one of LA's best chefs. His food is approachable and delicious, but still maintains the ability to surprise and delight. He plays off of Mexican food traditions, turning rice and beans into a spicy, delicious mix of puffed rice, garbanzos and cannellinis or making chicharons with chicken skins instead of pork."See more

"This was our first time here and we were impressed. It is more than Israeli food and takes in food from the entire region. It is good and well prepared. The happy hour prices of cocktails at the bar were very reasonable by Los Angeles standards so this is a good place to stop, have a drink and enjoy a ethnic but tasty meal. We like the steak but the lamb stole the show. They also have a fried rice dish that was delicious and was a great compliment to the meals. The chef would not accommodate substitutions which means I got stuck with food I could not eat (allergies) so that was a bit of a disappointment. As an aside, the server we had recently returned from Israel and had some very interesting stories. All in all, this is a good addition to the DTLA scene."See more

"We have been here before and liked it enough to bring friends for our New Year's Eve dinner. The food was very good. Presentations were spot on. We had the Kale Salad, Quinoa Salad, Shrimp appetizers, and a variety of the entrees. The Chicken with dumplings is my favorite. My wife had the skirt steak and she enjoyed it as well. Overall, very friendly wait staff with smiles and attitudes that were accommodating. Nice job Industriel, 3 times now we have been here and every time has been a hit."See more

"We were visiting from SF area and a friend recommended Terroni for New Year's Eve. It was easy to get to in DT LA. The 2 blocks we walked from the parking garage to the restaurant was a little seedy. But the restaurant itself was a surprisingly "hip" spot in the middle of historic jewelry district. It's in a beautiful, old bank building and they did a great job w/ the interior. Wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and unpretentious. Pacing of the meal was impeccable. Each course arrived, was admired, then quickly devoured. The 4 of us shared 2 appetizers, 2 salads, a pizza and 3 pastas and 1 dessert. You couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect and perfect."See more

"The Bugis is nested in busy downtown Los Angeles, California, connected to the Biltmore Hotel, and once you enter the restaurant you are in quiet setting with accents of Singapore. There is an extensive menu with a great variety for all customers. The service was prompt and the server was very informative when questions were asked regarding menu items. The food was great complemented the a warm Saki. Can't go wrong on this selection."See more
