"I would recommend the Palm, to a friend, the waiter Carl Sherwin was above and beyond excellent. Gave the Palm a very personable atmosphere. The food was good, the wine was excellent, the port over the top good, a must is the 7 layer chocolate cake."See more
"Everything was great until our original server left on break. We never even saw our replacement server for 30-45 minutes. Luckily, we were not in a hurry to go anywhere. She apologized when she brought us our bill."See more
"Yaki-Tori (grilled chicken) was probably either boiled or steamed, which was a bit disappointing flavor-wise and less appealing, although the taste was okay.
A friend of mine had to return the spicy sushi as he made a bad selection when he had stomach problems that night. However, a chef or a server did not give us any fuss about that. Thank you for the courtesy."See more
"We ate at Triple 8 before the P!nk concert at the Staples Center. Based on reviews I read I had expected slow service but that was not our experience. At the recommendation of our waiter we got the soup dumplings, fried Brussels sprouts and beef chow fun. It is pricey for Chinese food given the portion size but we were happy with our choice. It was worth the cost due to location and convenience to Staples Center. I would come back again."See more
"Thought this was going to be another athlete owned sports bar - we were surprised to find a eloquent southern style home cooking kitchen.
The fried chicken is out of this world! Great hand crafted cocktails too. Tried the fried green tomatoes and loved them, sliders as an appetizer, they were sumptuous."See more
"My friends and I were in DTLA to see a concert at the Staples Center. Everywhere else within walking distance either had a ridiculous wait or required a reservation. We found NIXO on OpenTable and were able to walk right in and be seated immediately. We were given a semi-private cabana, which we all enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive, which was nice. The margaritas were top notch! Two of us had the house margarita and another friend had the spicy margarita. Both were fantastic! The food was decent and not ridiculously expensive (at least for DTLA). The only hiccup was that because the restaurant is recently under new management, the menu listed on OpenTable has not been updated and doesn't match their actual menu. Also, our party was asked for a credit card to have on hold, and our server charged the card before asking how we wanted to pay (we wanted to split the check). Other that that, NIXO seems like a hidden gem if you're looking for somewhere quieter and less crowded than the usual suspects."See more
