Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom­box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry.     I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors and beautifully presented. The ambiance was perfect—cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the evening. The service was outstanding as well. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and gave us fantastic recommendations. Everything he suggested was spot on and truly delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. Highly recommend!

    I have been disappointed by other New Orleans restaurants in New York but Strange Delight was a pleasant surprise. No gumbo or etouffee or jambalaya but excellent oysters and shrimp . The shrimp remoulade was as good as any I’ve had in New Orleans and better than some. We’ll be back.

    This was my second time and I brought my mom, who is super picky and complains a lot but she only had good things to say. That chicken continues to kill. It’s amazing. I do recommend booking on the earlier side if you’re In a rush cause it gets busy. Last time and this time I had the Spaetzle with my dish which is kind of a home food for me and has never disappointed. It was really lovely and perfect for a mother daughter dinner tonight
