We don't take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it-and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week. Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That's why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.

The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they're Hapa. We have stretched the boundaries of creativity to develop dishes that defy all the rules while holding true to our roots. We hope that you will find our menu innovative, uninhibited, and distinctly fun! Incomplete parties will not be sat until complete.

We were visiting a friend living in Boulder and wanted to celebrate seeing her, as she’d moved away 3 years earlier. From beginning to end the evening was a great experience! The staff was young and attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful and elegant but not pretentious. Dinner was a tasting menu with gorgeous presentation and creativity! The chef made unique accommodations for our guest with dietary restrictions as well. Although there was only one vegetarian option in one of the five categories, the chef was willing to make a dish if we needed it. The extra attention to two amuse bouchées and two dessert courses rounded out a more than satisfying meal! And, to top it off, we were sent home with delicious lemon poppyseed bread:) The lofty price was well worth the magnificent food, views from the terraces and window table and the pleasure of being attended to by engaging staff, especially our server, Will!
