- JOJerryO1 review4.0Dined 6 days agoThe air conditioning was on full blast with 4 vents focused on our original table. F-F-F-FREEZING! The waitress would not move us from our table for 4 to a less frigid table for 4 without approval of the manager who was not available for about 10 minutes. I had to go to my car to retrieve a quilted vest for my wife to put on, over her dress and sweater. The other 2 ladies in our party suffered through the cold. The hotel’s maintenance person was nowhere to be found. It was a most unpleasant beginning for an otherwise fine dinner. Our first server was rather bureaucratic. She seemed more like a Social Security Administration employee than a server ready to endear new customers to a fine dining establishment. She warmed up as the evening progressed, tho there seldom ever is an impression as strong as the first one. She ought to go outside the hotel & meet Hakeem and Monday’s other valet. They could teach her a thing or two about smiling, and taking care of customers! Also, I called the restaurant twice to ask if the Executive Chef would be working on a Monday (9/18, my wife’s birthday). NO one ever returned my calls. That was another negative first impression. Maybe Hakeem should be considered for telephone & managerial duties! Whoever the chef was Monday night did a fine job. If I were he, I’d try to go out front & say hello to the patrons, time allowing, of course. The Birthday-candles churros were a nice touch.
