Brasserie by Niche
Our meal was outstanding, service was spot on. We were entertaining guest from out of town and they were quite impressed! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Great ambiance exceptional value and amazing service and food
Food was good, and the dessert was phenomenal. The two top was a little too small for two main and a side, glassware etc. nice room. Would definitely go there again.
Everything was perfect from the moment we stepped in! We had never been before and brought our friend visiting from out of town. The food was absolutely delicious - cannot wait to go back!
Love this place, and they have delicious vegetarian options! Gina is a wonderful sweet server there!
I had the walleye quenelles special. It was exquisite!! Hadn't been there for a while. The wine was delicious. Our server Corey was cute, efficient and very knowledgeable. I have always liked dining there. Did not disappoint.
The noise level while loud was no worse than any contemporary restaurant and perhaps not as bad.
The service was terrible and food seems to have taken a hit as well. Server brought out the apps and entrees at the same time which was inconvenient and felt rushed. Chicken was overly salty (more than normal) and overcooked. Server was rude and dismissive.
Fabulous. Expensive but well worth it -- best restaurant in the Central West End.
This was our first time dining at Brasserie but it won’t be our last. From the fresh out of the oven bread with creamy butter all the way to our apple tart topped with homemade creme fraiche ice cream, everything was top notch. Our service was impeccably attentive yet delightfully unobtrusive. Ambiance was loud, but thankfully the noise level dropped as the evening progressed.
Great food. Great service. Will definitely go back.
Fantastic experience as always! The food never disappoints and service is excellent. Depending on what you order, it can a bit pricey, but well worth it! Added bonus, the cocktails in hose and next door at Taste are fantastic as well. We will be back...
Had a 7:30 reservation but wasn’t seated until after 8:00. After being seated the experience was good.
It was my dads birthday and the staff could not have been more attentive! I haven’t been in a very long time but was reminded last night of just how great Brasserie is! Will be back soon for sure!
Love this place. The food is outstanding. Consistently good. Try the roasted chicken and you will keep coming back for this spectacular dish. The bibb lettuce salad is simple, crisp and delicious. The chocolate mousse is the best I've had. I will keep coming back:)
We visited for our anniversary. They provided us with complimentary sparkling rose, which was nice. The food was delicious, and came out quickly. We had a slight error on our bill which took some time to be corrected, but overall, we had a nice time.
Justin continually makes us feel special. We go for casual dining, events, special evenings, Sunday brunch and always walk away feeling great.
A true gem for dining.

Excellent all around—felt like a popular French bistro! Brasserie created a wonderful dining experience. All I can say is that we were blown away with all aspects of the meal!
Wonderful place. Just a bit noisy and congested.
Food was delicious, as always. Service was very good. Time to get food and get car from valet ridiculously long. This is one of the downside - the wait. We had a 515pm reservation, ordered at 545pm and had our main course served at 645pm? Valet was 20 min.
Brasserie by Niche always gives us a lovely, relaxing evening with great food. We bring out-of-town guests to Brasserie with full confidence that the food will be terrific, the tone of the place lovely and the drinks delightful. It feels like a wonderful, informal French bistro.
We recommend it to friends, and we will definitely come back!
Great food, drinks and service. We will be back!
great fish: mussel and walleye, average steak 'n frites. Very drafty--should get front door fixed. And very loud--hard to hear tablemates voices.
We went to Brassiere for our 5 year wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food, the wine, the atmosphere... all perfection but it it was the way we felt celebrated that will bring us back again and again. Thank you Jennifer and entire staff of Brassiere for making our night truly special.
My first impression of Brasserie by Niche was that it is classy, yet relaxed and friendly. Many people seemed to be having a VERY good time. Then the noise level hit me - loud! - from the music and the people. I had hoped for a quiet romantic evening, but it was difficult to hear each other. When our server, Tiffany, came to our table I knew we were in good hands! She was very sweet and the most competent server ever. She was not intrusive, but came over just when we needed something, whether we knew we even needed it or not. She was the best! My Trout Almondine was heavenly - tender and very lightly seasoned so the trout flavor dominated - and the green beans and almonds were cooked perfectly. My partner said his beef & vegetable dish was good except for a couple big fatty chunks. And the bread! Oh my, a bit crusty, soft, chewy, and warm - so good! Worth it to go there for just that! Then I saw Milk Chocolate Pot de la Crème on the desert menu and my will power crumbled. I was glad I ordered it - it was wonderful. My partner ordered the apple tart, but did not eat most of it - it was so burned and tough you could not cut it with a knife. In spite of the negatives I mentioned I would definitely go here again!
Everything was great. Definitely will return.
We needed a restaurant near the Barnes-Jewish medical campus and this wonderful French restaurant fit the bill. Everything was perfect - friendly and efficient wait staff, excellent food, fun atmosphere. Our waitress did a great job suggesting a wine and allowed us to taste two before deciding. The timing of the courses of our meal was perfect; we didn't feel rushed.
We had a delightful evening at Brasserie this past weekend. The ambiance was upbeat and warm, our server was helpful, friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I had the scallops - they were outstanding. We were visiting from out of town and look forward to our next trip when we’ll definitely return to this wonderful restaurant!
Great menu and helpful service. We visit Brasserie at least once a month and always enjoy the experience
BRASSERIE never disappoints! Both food and service are always outstanding.
The chicken was not moist as the server advertised it. The breast was very dry, the taste was good but it was definately over cooked. I think it would have been a great dish if it was not over done. The cheese puffs were the best I've had. Wine by glass selection was not so great.
The food was delicious. Our waiter, Peter, was excellent. We were going to a show after dinner, and he made sure that all the courses were brought out in a timely manner. We will be back!
Lovely, lively and fun!
For the four of us who had dinner at your restaurant this past Tuesday we all agreed that it was a terrific experience with great tasting food made all the better by our waiter Catlin. She knew the menu well, made good suggestions and had a pleasant smile and way about her. She’s a keeper and made us feel right at home.
This was our first time and we really enjoyed the food and our overall dining experience. We had a great server as well...wish I could remember his name but he was very attentive.
Brasserie by Niche is my favorite restaurant, and I chose it to celebrate my sister's birthday as she was a French major. She and a friend were visiting from out of town. Our server wished her happy birthday upon our seating and at the conclusion of the meal. While I understand that restaurants cannot give away a lot of freebies, I did find it unusual that no attempt was made to acknowledge her birthday with ... some small item even if it was a candle in something. Turning 70 is no small feat! The couple next to us were given a dish of au gratin potatoes as acknowledgement of their anniversary. I actually have celebrated my own birthday at Brasserie....cannot recall if anything was provided. Open Table asks about such special occasions...perhaps such questions should be omitted. In the big picture, the restaurant was wonderful, and our seating request was acknowledged...just perfect. The crowd was large, and bar service a tad slower than usual. This was understandable. My disappointment at not having my sister's birthday made more of a "to-do" than a greeting lead me to leave a smaller gratuity than the server deserved....It was likely not her fault...more the restaurant's. I will correct this the next time we come in.
This was our 4th visit and the first to disappoint. The trouble started with the valet parking. We had to wait for someone to show up to take our car and someone trying to get into their parking garage next door while we waited went totally crazy that we were blocking their way. The food was just OK and our waiter seemed distracted so we had to pull information out of him. The one positive was we were headed to the Fox and the meal came so quickly we were able to get there in plenty of time.
French onion soup was tasty but too salty. The broth was very think.
The trout almondine was tasteless as was the steak tartar.
The vegetable tart was good.
The bistro steak needed more seasoning and was overcooked.
The braised beef was good.
The hazelnut mousse lacked flavor.
The Brasserie by Niche was a delightful treat for my wife and I on our anniversary! Tiffany went above and beyond with her service and recommendations! The food was even more delicious and each course we had was better than the next. Highly recommend giving it a chance!
For many years the Brasserie served dishes similar to those I experienced in France, moderate sized portions, with vegetables and salad. At the end of the meal you felt satisfied but rarely "stuffed." As a friend said, it's just enough. Now they seem to have gone all American, huge amounts of french fries, not so much emphasis on the vegetables, large desserts...sort of like one of the upscale chain diners.
Always consistent with good food and excellent service
