The highly anticipated Sexy Fish Miami has finally made its debut in the heart of Brickell, one of Miami’s trendiest neighborhoods. Owned by Richard Caring—the British businessman behind many of London’s most fashionable restaurants—Sexy Fish brings an exciting dining experience that shakes up the scene with its bright and bold design, stunning dish presentations, and ultra-exclusive vibe that makes each and every diner feel like a true VIP.

This lavish Asian-inspired restaurant serves up a large menu with shareable bites, appealing entrees, and signature sashimi and maki. And in true Miami fashion, late-night entertainment with performers in out-of-this-world costumes, mermaid dancers, globally renowned DJs, and a special late-night menu of bites and beverages keeps the party going well into the night.

Overseen by chef director Bjoern Weissgerber, Sexy Fish Miami serves a diverse menu inspired by the seas of Asia, with a particular focus on Japan. Signature dishes made popular in London have all made their way here, such as the crispy duck salad with watermelon and pomegranate, smoked tuna belly, tempura eringi mushroom with truffles, caramelized black cod with spicy miso, and king crab and bone marrow with périgord truffle and toast.

New additions to the Miami menu include seasonal offerings inspired by the city like the “sexy gold fish & crispy caviar” featuring marinated gold-flake sea bass finished on the robata and served with caviar. For those who can’t decide, the kitchen curates an omakase offering of ten courses.

No one is meant to go thirsty at Sexy Fish Miami, as the well-curated bar is home to a carefully selected wine and Champagne list and a coffee table book-esque cocktail menu where the drinks are based around the idea of two flavors. Signatures include elderflower and yuzu, chocolate and wine, lime and meringue, and raspberry and yogurt.

To say this restaurant is opulent might be an understatement. Designed in collaboration with Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, Sexy Fish Miami features $20 million in artwork and decor with pieces by world-renowned artist Damien Hirst, as well as 26 bespoke fish lamps by the internationally acclaimed Frank Gehry.

Inspired by mid-century brasseries and motifs of the ocean, the dining room is outfitted with coral leather seating and illuminated agate floors, while the bar has a pink onyx top and teal high stools. The incredibly high ceilings allow for an experience that has diners spending the first few minutes of their evening taking in all that’s around them. Along the private dining room’s wall stretches a massive fish tank designed by SeaVisions with live coral and a colorful assortment of tropical fish.

But the over-the-top decor doesn’t stop in the dining room. At Sexy Fish, a trip to the restroom can easily turn into an Instagram-worthy photoshoot as the pink women’s room features onyx sinks sitting atop mermaid tails and colored glass mosaics incorporating over 8 million hand-assembled pieces depicting sea-themed scenes. The men’s room is similarly spectacular, covered in glass mosaics—but in blue—with a large onyx octopus hand carved by a stone mason from Italy.

Sexy Fish Miami is open for lunch, brunch, and dinner seven days a week. Reservations are needed to get through the velvet rope at the entrance.
