We were seated promptly at a very nice table. The ambiance was reminiscent of an Irish pub. The Guinness was poured to perfection. I ordered the shepherd’s pie at the recommendation of our server and found it to be the best I’ve ever had. It was served in the cast iron skillet it was baked in and was full of meat with just the right amount of vegetables. Our server, Mary from Dublin, was friendly, engaging and made the experience extra pleasurable. I was hoping for irish music but came on the wrong night (Thursday). More

Discover H Street

A busy neighborhood leading to the White House, the H Street Corridor is filled with restaurants featuring all sorts of American and ethnic cuisines. Because Washington, D.C., attracts visitors and residents from around the world, the cuisine is as varied as the people. You'll find upscale French and Italian restaurants as well as casual Indian, Chinese, pizza and taco shops. One of the local specialties is freshly baked donuts, which are served to order in a diner that also features fresh fried chicken. There are also many sports bars and grills that flourish with activity after business hours on weeknights and on weekends. The area also has a growing population of people from Central America, so you can expect to find restaurants featuring sopapillas, yuca, plantains and freshly made guacamole.
