We were there for a celebratory dinner with another couple. The space is open which does allow for noise level to rise, but where we were seated, still allowed for conversation.
The smells in the establishment definitely place it in steakhouse realm and my mouth was watering before I even saw the menu. My girlfriend and I split the beet salad, the strip steak tasting (with optional wagyu), and then we got sprouts and shrooms for the table.
The sprouts were full of thick bacon, and perfectly cooked. The shrooms were a highlight, sherry deglazing at the table... And delicious. And the steak tasting "flight"... Wow. If you want to understand the difference between grass-fed, corn finished, aging, and wagyu, this is the plate for you. It's 20oz. of a journey, easily split between partners.
We finished with carrot cake that was good, but incomparable to the quality of everything else, but I managed to wash it down with some delicious 20-year port. While the cake wasn't up to par, it was close, and the venue should not take this as a complaint
Would absolutely visit again. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Bad food, great drinks
just wow! the food was so delicious with a few surprises. the wine selection was perfect and the service was above and beyond (Allison). it’s definitely a must on my list every time we are in Denver.
They have recovered from immediate post opening challenges and it’s fabulous again!!
Overall had a good Thanksgiving dinner at Urban Farmer.
1. 5:45pm reservation, didn’t get sat until 6:20pm
2 Bartender tried to add $10 “to-go” fee on drinks ordered at bar while we waited for our table
3 Food was delicious and server was nice
Thanksgiving, ran an hour late, skipped our first course
And brought our main. Then dropped our first course on us well, what a mess. Overbooked, under staffed, food was Luke warm. A total failure by this group.
Thanksgiving. Looong wait to be seated- to be served.
Comped with a round of drinks which was fair.
My husband has brain cancer so it was tricky finding a place that would magically give us the "Goldilocks" of options for Thanksgiving (right time, foodie worthy, busy but not bustling, courses at our own pace though not a seating). We had a reservation for 2:30 and needed to wait a bit (30+ mins). When I went to check-in after about 15 minutes, the hostess staff apologized and were on it noting that the existing guests were wrapping up. Immediately after that the Manager and owner came over and apologized as well. They sent over some unsweetened iced teas to sip on (that were fresh and delicious) while we waited for them to get our table ready. We got seated in a lovely booth in the back of the restaurant that was quiet yet gave us a delightful chance to eat with our eyes and see everything on the menu before we had to make the hard choice of what to have.
Though it was a pre-fixe menu, everything came out feeling like it was home cooked by our favorite person. The food was impeccable and very much worth the wait. I had the filet - cooked perfectly. My husband had the turkey, so tender and flavorful. All the sides were on point and incredibly sweet and savory (+amazing for leftovers the next day). We both got the carrot cake and it was just the right amount of bites to satisfy our sweet tooths. For the first time on Turkey Day, we walked out bellies full and not headed for food coma.
Just when we were getting ready to pay the bill, the waitress and Manager came over to tell us that they were comping our meal because of the long wait. I burst into tears because I was so overwhelmed by the generous and surprising gesture. It's been a long time since we had this depth of genuine service and true hospitality. Urban Farmer 90000% delivered on what the definition of Thanksgiving means and we are giving thanks for the Urban Farmer helping us make an amazing memory during such a difficult time.
Very impressed! I was very surprised how much we loved every minute! Also appreciated the Christmas decorations at the Oxford which is attached. Thank you!!
Wonderful service even on a holiday. Waitress was attentive and made each table feel taken care of.
Fantastic Thanksgiving experience. Great staff, great food, and a very accommodating team.
The amazing food and drinks, top notch service, and Thanksgiving ambience could not have been better. Very grateful for the amazing staff, who went all out! Thank you!
It was great, we really enjoyed the bison steaks.
John was an excellent server, very knowledgeable, and welcoming. We celebrated our anniversary and we’re treated to a champagne toast. Our only regret was being too full from our meal to try dessert.
It was my second visit to the restaurant in a month. I was there in October for the first time with the group of business colleagues and was so impressed with the food that decided to come back once again with another group of business partners from out of town. Well, the food definitely did not live up to the hype this time around. While the drinks were good and the service was very attentive, two out of three dishes were extremely over salted. When you order a $90 steak you definitely expect better than that. Our server was very apologetic and took one of the dishes off the bill but offered no complimentary dessert or anything else to make it up. I was really hoping Urban Farmer would become our favorite staple but unfortunately that will not be the case. We won’t be back for a long while if ever. There are plenty of other high end places around to spend $500 and get much better experience.
Greta food, great bar, good vibe throughout the place. Highly recommend
Brunch was amazing as usual!! I got the steak Benedict and then we also got the VIP cheese plate and spicey bloody maries so yum!!!
Wonderful experience, the food the wine and especially the service, very well done!!!
Really loved having our anniversary dinner at Urban Farmer. The service was great, we got treated to a champagne toast to celebrate! Our server, Sarah, was so sweet and attentive. The food was AMAZING. We had 2 east coast oysters and 2 west coast oysters, perfect starter. The bison steak was INCREDIBLE. Cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The Brussels sprouts had a beautiful smoky flavor and still had crunch, perfect cheesy side. Espresso martinis for dessert topped off a fantastic meal.
I will say, we had a reservation and still had to stand at the door waiting for 10 minutes for our table, even though we showed up two minutes late. It was awkward and not ideal. And the two-top tables are very close together, so we were hearing our neighbor’s conversation loud and clear while not being able to hear each other. The ambiance is great but it’s loud and energetic and tight. Definitely worth the bill and experience, just want to be transparent about the space.
Food was great. Waiter did an awesome job. No complaints
Will definitely come back when I’m back in Denver
Phenomenal service, phenomenal food. Probably the best steak I've had in Denver, if not best meal here. Highly recommend.
My husband and I celebrated a birthday and stayed downtown Denver . Will walked to the urban farmer which is close to union station and had a fantastic brunch. Our server was outstanding she was creative with suggestions for food and drinks . I tried the Mamosa with grapefruit juice which was great not as sweet as the standard fare and my husband had a bloody Mary that made me jealous! it had maple cured bacon and all the veggies you could choose from on the side. My husband had the mile high omelet and said next time he would do without the hollandaise sauce. At the server suggestion I have one avocado toast and one lox and bagel with poached egg on top it was fantastic! It is located in a historical building and they did a great job with the interior to compliment the architecture . We sat in a cute bench and was very comfortable The ambiance was sophisticated but inviting - we Will definitely come back !
We love Urban Farmer! We were staying at The Oxford hotel for the night of our elopement and had our dinner here. The staff was so friendly and congratulatory! They made a special day even more special. The food is to die for and the wine list is excellent. Highly recommend!
Outstanding, as always. Our go-to place!
Food - amazing
Service - fantastic, attentive, personable
Ambiance - feels like home
Special thanks to the mushroom expert who cooked us a delicious dish tableside, along with an education on the finer points of mushrooms and growing them.
LOVE THE PLACE!
The location was great but the food was mediocre. The dessert cakes were very dry.
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his birthday. We enjoyed our experience, especially getting mushrooms cooked right in front of us! Delicious food/drinks and wonderful service.
Possibly the best steaks I've ever had. Can't wait to go back.
For the price paid not worth it, very average
Was expecting a better experience given the price point and reviews. We started off on a bad foot because the hostess was extremely rude and unwelcoming. She hardly acknowledged us and it wasn’t until a server came by and acknowledged us that she decided to do her job.
Once we were seated things got better. Our server was amazing- super nice and attentive. We got the steak tasting and added the wagyu. Unfortunately the steak was overdone, but it did have good flavor. We asked for medium and there were parts that were well done. The sides were good- we got potatoes and mushrooms.
The best part was probably the wine selection- my partner was very pleased and would come back for the wine alone!
This is the second time I have been in to the restaurant and received poor service. For the price point of this restaurant your party should not leave feeling underwhelmed and frustrated about the while dining experience. I understand that a restaurant or a server can have an off night. That’s why I was willing to give it another chance. Only to have the same results for an expensive meal.
We had an awesome experience, the service was professional and the food was excellent.
Andrew was phenomenal! He was incredibly attentive, gave us great recommendations and ensured we had the best time. The entire experience was exceptional. - The food was incredible!
Couldn't be more impressed with Urban Farmer. Every suggestion our waiter gave was outstanding, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Highly recommend the heirloom tomato salad, bison ribeye, and mushroom side. All delicious!!
Prices are incredibly high. I would not go there again.
A LoDo favorite of mine.
Food was good but the server made a mistake with our entrees that was corrected but kind of ruined the pace of the meal.
Service was poor. Ancillary staff delivered our meal to our table. We didn’t see our waiter for 45 minutes. Finally had to go to Hostess to settle our bill.
Hi Nick, Thank you for your review. You are completely correct, you should expect way better service when you come here. Is there a number I can call you to follow up and learn more about your experience? Thank you - Justyn Brogan, General Manager.
Just wanted to try a new place. I’m glad we chose the Urban Farmer. The food was excellent. Enjoyed the flambé mushrooms
Excellent food—we had both steaks and seafood at our table and everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend the table side sautéed mushrooms that are grown on the premises. Great service that was accommodating but not overbearing.
This meal was amazing! The food was so perfectly cooked, I had the rabbit and it was the best prepared rabbit I have ever experienced. The cornbread is the BOMB!! And our server, Nick, made this meal more than I expected. We felt so well taken care of in his hands. Will definitely be going back again and again!
Thank you for the glowing review! I'm thrilled to read about how wonderful your dining experience was with us. Thanks for choosing Urban Farmer Steakhouse Denver and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
