The steakhouse is not entirely focused on meats alone, and also offers soul nurturing sides, soups, and salads inspired by each season’s abundance. Post-supper sweets will be made in-house and include a variety of baked goods and selection of rotating ice creams and sorbets.

Terrible service, poor teamwork as well. We sat for 10 min while the server next to us had 3 total tables, filled everyone's water and ignored us. I had to call the front host stand to ask for service. A nice server who was working over 6 tables outside was sent to help us. For 25$ a plate and a very slow lunch time inside the restaurant... it's disappointing. We won't be back. Especially having to fight down town parking to be intentionally ignored. They said 3 people called out sick and they need to have a staff meeting and get on the same page.
My experience at Urban Farmer earlier this week (9/11/2019) was absolutely incredible. I was celebrating the sale of my house and wanted to try a steak house in town that I hadn’t been to yet. The feel of the room was great, music was much more fun than an other steak house I’ve been to, and the food and service were top notch. Liz, our server was perfect- attentive without being too present, extremely knowledgeable of the menu and professional without being too stuffy. She was the best. I had the dry aged bison ribeye, and it was one of the best ribeyes I’ve ever had. 10/10. I’ll will absolutely be back. Thank you Urban Farmer and Liz!
EXCELLENT! Started with the Trout Tartare (very nicely done- trout was not soft or runny and the blended spices and sauce made the dish), had the melon and heirloom salad (out of this world!), and the sampler of 6 oz different raised beef (aged 21 days by far the best!)... server was not overbearing, nor instrusive and very well versed on flavors and wine selection. Well done Urban Farmer Denver!
The breakfast was delicious. We had the duck hash, the egg plate, the breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and gravy. All were excellent.
The waiter was not very friendly, actually a bit rude to be honest. Just doing his job and seemed annoyed to be serving us. The food was good though...not extraordinary...we had halibut & steak.
Food was cold except for mushrooms prepared table side. Meat not done as asked and when brought back it was charred. Cold air blew on us the whole night. Service was very slow and restaurant was not even busy.
The food and service are outstanding! Any foodie, excited about farm to table, will enjoy the experience. I strongly recommend giving Urban Farmer a try.
One of the best restaurants I have ever experienced!
Food was great as always! Service was not great, food took a long time to come out, I know it wasn’t the kitchen as other tables were getting their food. Waiter was not attentive and was especially late with drink orders, we would have probably ordered dinner had the food come at the appropriate time.
The food is fantastic.
Delicious and innovating dining experience!
Food was amazing, service was great, I believe our server was Ana. Only complaint was every other table around us seemed to be “boys club” and everyone was yelling about their golf games. But then again this is probably just a factor of it being downtown and when everyone got off work. Not a knock on the restaurant. 100% recommend
Service was friendly but very slow
Eventually after several requests the steak came out...cold
Had to be reheated.
Loved it , great location. Chef prepared food was perfectly cooked. 6 oz filet , and sautéed mushroom .
This is the place of the blame game. Went for a 10am brunch (not exactly a rush hour prime time moment) and waited over an hour to only get a starter delivered to the table. When we asked our server, she said a large party threw off the kitchen’s timing. Waiting longer, we asked for the manager. She said she would check and then informed us our mains were put in only 25 minutes ago. We placed the full order for all courses over an hour prior, so how this intell applies to us, I’m not really clear. And she pointed out that we had oysters so I guess that means you need to allow for over an hour to get everything else because you, patron, are the root cause of a poorly timed meal. We left without anything but a plate of oysters and a load of wasted time, and several excuses. We also left without any verbal form of apology or anything really but dismissive indifference. Service here is seriously pitiful. Moved down to The Kitchen, as we were now starving (a few oysters in our stomach and the clock hitting 11:30) and the food was so good, service was amazing and they threw in free pastries because we mentioned our poor experience without ever naming the first restaurant. And they didn’t ask either. Classy and we should have gone to The Kitchen down the road to start with!
My husband ordered the bison and said it was one of the best steaks he’d ever eaten! A lovely evening dining outside. Great service.
An all-around fantastic lunch! The mile high omelette was excellent as was the french toast waffle!
Super accommodating, excellent service and great happy hour specials.
Adjacent to Union Station and handy to train and light rail users who HATE Denver traffic! Watched it being built for several years on northeast corner of Oxford Hotel.
I ordered the vegetarian panini, wonderful.
That deviled eggs were outstanding.
Will certainly return.
Artwork in stairwell to lavatories is worth the walk down stairs.
Tables for 2 were too close together and hostess didn’t catch our reservation so had to spend time after lunch doing that. Food was decent but water could have been faster. An ok destination for a lunch business meeting.
The steak was heavenly. Nothing else to it. GET THE FLIGHT! The sides are BIG. Easily serve 4 so keep that in mind if there’s only 2 people. Our waitress was great and so was my coffee cocktail post dinner. It was my bday and I was too full for a complimentary dessert so then comped my drink instead! Very nice gesture!!
While there for a small business lunch, it seemed there were a minimal number of servers. We had to wait several times for refills and orders.
What a perfect night. From the host to the gratuity, this night was perfect. Manhattan and old fashioned were an amazing to start to pair with our appetizers. The best steak I have had in a long time paired with a pinot noir selected by the GM Susan. So much thought put into our meal made this one of the best downtown Denver meals so far.
An amazing Dining Experience with Chef Taylor Stark and Server, Sarah Jones. They were the human and foodie highlight of our trip to Colorado! I had the steak flyte, which consisted of 6 oz., Grass run farms- Grass-fed; 6 oz. Painted hills grain-finished and 6 oz. of King prime 21 day dry aged beef filet. My dinner companion enjoyed the rabbit roulade with confit potatoes, peas and smoked carrots. She raved! I had my hands full already and didn't taste hers, but she said it was amazing.
We shared the cocktail shrimp on ice block which was the best ever and served with spicy tomato jam and pickled onion and cucumber; also sharing fresh trout tartare served with lardo mousse, crispy taro and green matcha tea, it was a beautiful dish to behold. Lastly we shared Eastern Oysters with a mignonette that was good enough to drink by itself.
Our waitress was awesome and attentive. The cost is a little high but all in all we had a very good Anniversary dinner.
Fantastic service from Andrew. Great wine list and every dish is divine.
I ordered the trio sampler for $85 along with another person in my party. Each of us asked for Medium Rare. Our 3 cuts came out ranging from rare to well. I had this once before and was blown away. However this last week the meat had no significant flavor and there was now difference between the 3 types. This combined with a server that had clearly to many tables left us thinking why was this work $500 for 5 people?
This was our second time to Urban Farmer, and quite frankly, probably our last. While our waiter was a nice guy, the service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes to get our first drinks at the table. The food took well over 40 minutes from the time we ordered. At one point, our waiter came out and said the steaks were “resting” after being cooked, and then it was another 20 minutes. The food was lukewarm, and my $60 bison rib eye was a bit dry and over cooked. At that point, we had been at the restaurant for 2 hours, and I didn’t want to send the meal back. The waiter mentioned there were a lot of orders at once and the kitchen was overwhelmed. For $350 for 4 of us, it was not worth the money or time.
Probably our favorite place for a special occasion in Denver. Hands down the best martini in Denver. We split the Caesar salad, steak flight, and lobster tail. Steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. Great place for a date, business dinner, or special occasion.
I would argue best steaks in Denver, especially the ribeye or tomahawk.
Background: To place this review in context I have been to about 15 "upscale" steak houses in the Denver metro area. My favorites are Guard and Grace, Capital Grill, and Shanahans.
Staff: Fairly inattentive and disorganized. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation and were seated in a front area. A waitress walked up and asked if we wanted any drinks, got distracted by another employee whispering to her, and walked away. She didn't excuse herself nor come back. We requested a booth for three people and were declined because we did not have enough people in our party. The restaurant was only about half occupied at 5:15 pm. Our waiter did not review the menu with us. We had never been here and most "upscale" steak places take pride in reviewing their menu with guests. A carrot soup was ordered and a cup was brought out and my friend began to eat it. Another waiter came out and stated that he meant to give her a bowl and placed another larger bowl of soup in front of her. When our food came out a gentleman rolled a cart to prepare mushrooms table side for us. I mentioned that we had not ordered the mushrooms. He was confused and didn't know what to do because he already started to saute onions. I said that we would accept them instead of the fingerling potatoes. Our waiter never apologized or acknowledged this. The waiter never asked if our steak was cooked to the correct temperature. They were not.
Food: Average tasting and over priced. 6 ounce filet mignons were small and over done. I have gone to The Edge and Ruth's Chris in the past few months with both of the 6 ounce fillets appearing larger than the Urban Farmer's. The fillets were slightly larger than a fifty cent piece, maybe the diameter of a clementine and priced at $45. They were ordered to be medium and one came out as medium well and the other as well done. Two appetizers, three steaks, three sides, and six cocktails came out to $345.
Hostess was rude. We called her, hung up on us. When we got there she said that because we made our open table 15 minutes ago we had to wait. The restaurant had many tables empty. Had to wait another 15 minutes past reservation. Our waitress though was awesome and so was the food!!! Rabbit hash a must try!!
Always enjoy Urban Farmer. I had a salad followed by a grass fed NY Strip and a fingerling potato tart. Everything was delicious! Unfortunately the restaurant was extremely busy and the service suffered accordingly. Not my best dinner there. But still, I’m looking forward to my next visit!
Tried to have business lunch with three 80 yr olds. Loud music made it quite difficult. Needs of two large parties resulted in a 45 min wait for our food. Staff was apologetic and very professional, it was not their fault. Price reduction helped soften the mood. Why do restaurants feel the need to drown out conversation?
This was a fabulous place that will be making a frequent occurrence on steak nights. The cocktails were well executed classics (I had a Manhattan and a mai tai) as well as their own offerings. We had a nice charcuterie board and a pastrami board as appetizers and both were picked clean. We ordered the waygu hanger, the steak tasting "flight," and an 8 oz filet. All plates were expertly prepared, perfectly seasoned and at the requested temperature and was some of the best beef I've had in Denver. The only (very small) issue we had was with the sides. While the creamed corn side was incredible, the chili mac and cheese had too much breadcrumbs and too little pasta, and the twice baked potato tart was difficult to split and serve with the crust. Minor issues as they both tasted great.
We can't wait to get back for the next guy's night!
30 day dry aged ribeye was excellent
My wife and I went here for an anniversary brunch. The restaurant came highly recommended as one of the best dining experiences in Denver. Unfortunately, our dining experience was less than pleasant. The staff were extremely rude to us. We did have a difficult time finding parking, so we were about 15 minutes late, and the hostess made us feel as if we were horrible people for being a few minutes late. Next, our waitress was less than pleasant with us, and only checked up with us once during the whole meal.
On a positive note the food was outstanding! I had the breakfast sandwich and my wife had the waffle. Both were delightful. Thankfully the food was able to salvage the terrible, condescending service that we received
Urban farmer is an attractive restaurant where the overall experience did not justify the high prices. The service had a few odd glitches- for example, one member of our party received his cocktail several minutes before the rest of us, creating an awkward interlude. The second round of that cocktail was about 75% the size of the first. Al of us had steaks and we found them perfectly good but unexciting. There was no sizzle and Several of us added salt. I like a good seared crust on my medium rare steak and I was disappointed. The six of us ordered cocktails, 4 steaks to share among the six of us, a few apps and no dessert and we spent 500 bucks before the tip. The service, and especially the food, did not justify that expense.
The food was good however it took 30 minutes to receive drinks (beer) and 1.5 hours to get our steaks. There weren’t any apologies for the slow service and we missed our evening plans due to the slow dinner.
