We have been to Rioja several times and have never been disappointed. They always seem to go above and beyond for our special occasions. It seems like every time we go there is something new and fresh on the menu. We have not had a dish that we didn’t like.
Amazing amazing food. We have never tasted some of the seasonings used before!
I visit Denver 2-3 times each year and always try to fit in a dinner at Rioja... for the 10 years I’ve been coming here it has been consistently excellent in all aspects.
Everything about our dinner was exceptional. The food, the wine, the service. One of the best meals I’ve ever had anywhere.
Great spot in Latimer Square! Good menu with very tasty dishes!
Looking at the pictures of the food, we had an higher expectation for dinner. However, the food was just so so. There really is nothing special. The service though was good.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere on Larimer Street. Just a bit over-priced.
Amazing chef with very unique plates. Service is top notch..
As usual, our dining experience at Rioja was great. The food and ambience are outstanding. It's not a cheap dinner though, and it always stretches the budget a little bit, but definitely worth the money once in a while.
Deeeeelish!! Especially the desserts!
Lovely food only marred by the lackadaisical and inattentive service. The break room for the wait staff seems to be in the middle of the restaurant where they hang out and chitchat while ignoring tables “that’s a job for a busboys” attitude
Outstanding service and fabulous food!
very much enjoyed my experience. food was all delicious
Traveled to Denver for the weekend to help daughter find an apartment and grabbed dinner at Rioja. Dinner & service was excellent. Food was outstanding- every dish including the dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Very nice time, food was tasty with a quaint atmosphere.
Pretty good, I liked 'em
The appetizer was excellent. I was amazed at how good their arugula salad tasted. Several other dishes also very well done and delicious.
weve eaten there MANY a time i am sad to report that the food was less than remembered. The steak was too spicy but cooked perfectly to temperature yet still tough cut. and the side cabbage and mushroom was overcooked/grilled and tasted burnt.
the Halibut was very good that my husband had. Also the wine was very good as well.
i'll try it again but i was definitely disspointed this visit. at this time i would still recommend ..hoping that it was just a one time problem
Staff was very, very kind to us. They actually moved a table, so that my husband could park his mobility scooter indoors.
The Kanpachi Crudo (sushi) appetizer was excellent with garnishes of radish, apple and marinated zucchini. Normally I am not a big sushi fan, but I enjoyed this thoroughly.
Lamb entree was perfect, with a sauce that was a wonderful complement to the meat. It was accompanied by a very generous portion of fresh green peas and fava beans.
Just one tiny request, that I make to many restaurants: Maybe they could serve a dessert that is simply saturated with chocolate. The Japanese Cloud cake was pleasant, but please, let's bring on the chocolate!
Great experience and dinning with myself and clients. Please find a bottle of PX for after dinner drinks. Waiter tried to find a substitute, just not quite the same as PX.
Dining room was hot and not air-conditioned, food took incredibly long in between courses, food was overall cold, artichoke pasta broth wasn’t seasoned at all
Great service and the food was amazing! The goat cheese beignets were even better than I remembered! Highly recommend!
Food was excellent but told our server of my food allergies. We had to asked each time when food came out about if gluten free or nut free. For a restaurant that states has gluten free options, to me that means they are aware of food allergies. For desert, no GF on the menu but had sorbet which I ordered, it arrived on an oatmeal cookie. When asked about the oatmeal cookie, they said it was not gluten free. Then they had run out of the sorbet, so no Deseret for me ! Very frustrating!!
Excellent food. I had the halibut and my date had the lamb.
The Colorado Lamb burger was the best burger I’ve ever had…same with the sweet potato fries…
Rioja is an awesome place with tasty food that is always plated beautifully!
Overpriced for what you get. Not impressed. Bread was good, but served cold. Beer selection was quite short, served in cans, and way overpriced. For a "Mediterranean" restaurant, extremely poor and overpriced selection for non-meat (vegetarian) eaters. Overall I was not impressed with this place, and I'm sorry I wasn't, because I went there for our anniversary.
Great food and great service! Even with the rain we had a great experience dining outdoors.
I took my husband to Rioja to celebrate a new job. As a foodie, I did my research but sometimes things don't turn out as expected. Rioja not only impressed my husband, but it exceeded all of my expectations. The staff was so amazing and had perfect timing. The food was divine! Plus, the cherry on top, was that the price of this amazing place was not unreasonable. I will not only go back but I will tell everyone I know about it. Thank you for such a lovely lunch!
We really enjoyed our experience and food. I researched before we went and was so glad to have gone to Rioja.
Great food and great service. Ambience was great. We were early for our reservation and they seated us.
We went to this restaurant as a date. It was a wonderful romantic dinner. The food was incredible. Very creative and tasty. The atmosphere and service were great.
Delicious dinner, excellent staff. We have eaten here a number of times over the years and it’s as great as ever. We would definitely recommend this restaurant
The star off for service is because we were served 2 bread plates that were not completely clean. That was fixed. The meals were superb, one of the best I have ever had. My picky 14-year-old loved the food— that is testimonial for an outstanding restaurant! 😄
Great food! Great drinks! Great service!
So glad to be back at Rioja - never disappoints. The staff remains incredible, food yummy.
We were so pleasantly surprised by the Rioja brunch on Saturday morning! The food was fantastic (I had the Rioja Benedict, my husband had the Hangover plate). Both really elevated, impressive plates for breakfast! I would definitely come back:)
Best meal in Denver, ever.
We celebrated our anniversary.
Always love this place and has become a usual spot. However, They change up the menu due to seasons so a bit disappointed to see the menu this time. Thankfully they had scallops as a special. The oopsie daisy seems to never have alcohol in it and I swear is two sips. They really need to be more generous with this drink instead of all the ice. It’s not a shot! We made the determination to try a few different places from now on. Love the staff though.
There is a lot of hype behind this restaurant which made me skeptical at best and I'm here to say that this is one of if not the best restaurant in Denver, and it deserves the hype! Started with the Rabbit two ways which was a borderline perfect dish in terms of flavor, balance and presentation. That plate was clean when it was taken away. The lamb loin was perfectly cooked and the demi-glace was exquisite. I may have added a potato or other starch to that dish just to soak up the demi-glace but that is a minor critique as the fava beans with peas was a light balance to the richness of the lamb. Service was excellent, we never felt rushed or neglected, and the staff was enthusiastic about the food. The huge selection of Temperanillo on the wine menu was also a neat touch. I'm glad I finally got to try this spot and glad I did. A great meal!
