We had a wonderful time for our party of six!
Food was good, not great. Wine was good, not great. Would consider going back.
3rd time back, becoming a new favorite restaurant
Food is very delicious!
Great food and service!
Lovely location with great indoor and outdoor seating options. Had a delicious artichoke appetizer and the pork chop. All great. Nice wine selection too!
Amish chicken was excellent. Can't say the same for steak. Little too chewy. So so deserts. Wait staff inadequate to provide attentive service. Not a great option to spend your $100 per person, especially with so many good restaurants in Denver
Food was outstanding but we didn’t see our server for about 45 min after we finished our main course. We wanted to order dessert but it was so late when we our server came back that we had to ask for the check. She seemed very busy waiting on other tables but we got lost in the mix I guess. Turned a very exciting experience sour toward the end.
What a fantastic find! Everything about this place was perfect.....food, service, wine even the table! Would go back here in a heart beat and will recommend it
Rioja's attention to detail on the food, ambience, and service is top notch! They truly know how to make all those who attend their establishment feel loved and appreciated. They made my wife's birthday one to remember and even gave us sweet complimentary little ice cream desert cones. And they gave my wife a birthday card as well signed by the entire staff. And the food was SOOOOOO GOOD! Can't go wrong with one of their Spanish red wines and meats. Truly delectable! Right in the heart of Larimer st., it definitely is worth a date night out. We will be returning.
Amazing food and amazing service; this may have been the best meal that my wife and I have had in a few years.
Literally brought tears to my eyes. This was our first time at a nicer restaurant with wonderful wait staff, ambiance and fabulous food. It felt so great to be back to semi-normal. The food was fabulous and our server, Angela or Angel or Angelica, was incredible even though they were short-staffed and she was covering a bunch of tables. I’m still kinda sentimental and crying about the experience. Thank you.
it was amazing! food was excellent and servicr was wonderful, ill be back for sure..
Brunch is good, dinner is PHENOMENAL!! Rioja never disappoints, ever.
This restaurant is amazing. Really delicious dishes, and great attention. I'd recommend going somewhere else for dessert, but for your main meal, this is a must!
Delicious brunch! We have of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks.
Had the chartruterie board, venison and sea bass. All were very good. Would recommend and service was excellent
Amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere.
Incredible food, impeccable service. Highly recommend the artichoke tortelloni, vegetarian four squares, octopus, and chocolate dream cake.
Rioja was delicious with excellent service. Cool location in Larimer Square. Wagyu tri-tip was a winning dish, as well as their "Rioja Picnic" with assorted cheese and meat. Flavors were complex and took you on a savory and delectable journey. Highly recommend for date night or family dinner.
Absolutely amazing service, and the food quality was wonderful! They were all so welcoming and my girlfriend and I heard many "Happy Anniversary"s and even got a card with everyone's signature! It was very sweet and personal.
Mouth watering Food! Well worth the drive to Denver from the burbs!
Patrick was amazing - great recs. The food was the best we’ve had in a while.
Fantastic service! Very knowledgeable about gluten free options.
Amazing service—knowledgeable and friendly! This is our favorite restaurant in Denver! Always amazing food, drinks and excellent service
Rioja manages to hit the sweet spot vis-a-vis atmosphere, with an aura that feels simultaneously hip and cozy. Don't skip the "Picnic" appetizer, an architectural triumph featuring inspired pairings of Spanish-influenced meats, cheese, roasted nuts, olives and condiments. Too, you would be remiss to pass up the home-made rosemary-scented biscuit, delightful in both its delicacy and the savory robustness of the featured herb. For those early birds that can start their dinner prior to the 5:00 happy hour cut-off, a bourbon cocktail at $8.00 or a crisp white Chardonnay at only $6.00 starts things off on a celebratory and wallet-friendly note. Definiitly order the James Beard award winning artichoke tortellini. The cloud-like pillows of whipped artichoke moved out table to raise a toast to the discerning Mr. Beard. Venison, served rare and ruby-hued, benefited from a sauce tinged with an exotic sweetness. The healthy-sized pork chop brimmed with flavor and juice. All in all, Rioja delights with subtle complexities and Mediterranean flavors. Me encanta.
Fabulous food, great presentation and friendly staff, all at a reasonable price. Will go back again for sure. Don’t miss the Dream Cake Dessert! Out of this world
Rioja was very yummy and a a great overall experience! We don’t drink, so we usually expect to be treated poorly at nicer restaurants from past experience, but were still treated very well at Rioja!
Excellent food and outstanding service from the staff. Thank you all.
Exceptional service with knowledgeable and pleasant wait staff. Timing of food delivery and plate removal was spot on. This was probably the best chicken I have ever tasted and my dining partner was surprised by the diverse and flavorful vegetarian meal.
The service of our waiter was fantastic. He answered all our questions, never hurried us and was polite the whole time we were there. The food was amazing. The kitchen cooked the pork chop (sizable) exactly the way I requested it. Nothing but good memories on the whole experience.
This was a special occasion for us, we had the best dining experience at Rioja. The staff & manager was attentive and knowledgeable about the food. As a fine dining connoisseur, this was very very fine . Congratulations on your James Beard Award, well deserved. The best seat was overlooking the bar and viewing the interworking of a fine restaurant.
Attentive service. The tasting menu and wine pairing were excellent
The staff here are 5 stars. You can tell they have been part of the team for a while and are passionate about the food, as well as the customers. Even the hostess was able to tell us her favorite menu item, and the menu changes out every so often. Finishing touches: the bread options are phenomenal, and they went above and beyond to make my boyfriend's birthday dinner was special. Food was unique and delicious. We'll be frequenting this place as a go-to higher-end spot!
Wonderful food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner
We (party of 2) we're seated at a table for 2 in a crowded section of the restaurant even though about 70% of the seating was empty. It would have been nice to be seated at an uncrowded table for noise, comfort, and Covid 19 reasons
It was amazing. 10/10 recommend. We enjoyed each course and will definitely be back if we're back in the city!
I am from San Francisco and enjoy marvelous food. But Rioja was exceptional, especially our server Angie who crafted our meal for us. I would certainly go back, each course was uniquely prepared, from the pasta to the pork chop.
Delicious and classy! Had lunch here on a Monday after hearing about it on a LoDo walking tour. I had the turmeric mule and artichoke tortellini, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing! Eating the artichoke tortellini was a magical moment- so balanced and savory.
Overall a good experience, but the portions were way too small for the prices and the service was too slow. It seemed like it took forever to get our bottle of cava. We waited six minutes to be greeted and after that, ten minutes to get our bottle of wine. Our server didn’t acknowledge that we were celebrating our anniversary or told us her name. Her assistant was great, she interacted with us more than our server. The entrees took forever after the salad course. Our server opened the bottle of cava but never came back to pour the bottle. I was pouring my wife’s wine glass all night. We were in no rush but the service was too slow. The food was delicious but the portions were too small. I try to avoid corporate restaurants and go with independent restaurants so please do better.
