Nice venue for a business dinner with colleagues. Service and food were great.

They have a open kitchen which is fairly noisy. Get a table on the side of the divider away from the kitchen.

I took my son out and daughter-in-law who are expecting to have a baby in the next week at the end they offered a free lemon cello cake with gradations baby meals were excellent. We had two shrimp and grit dishes, one crabcake meal and one prime rib we tasted each other's food and couldn't decide who was better, great service will come back again.

Lucky is our favorite spot in Roanoke for a cozy, comforting dinner or craft cocktail at the lovely bar. The service is warm and homey but also efficient and attentive. There are so many wonderful dishes to choose from, but we love the insanely great fried chicken, low-country shrimp and grits, African peanut stew, sweet potatoes bathed in a kimchi-miso glaze and Brussels sprouts--you see? It's impossible to pick a single favorite. The one dish that didn't wow us was the smoked meatloaf, which had the taste and texture of something like kielbasa. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. The bar can make almost anything you want but it's worth trying the specials. One of my faves, occasionally on the special cocktail menu, is their pitch-perfect Vieux Carré. One other tip: the wine-by-the-glass selections are a little sparse, so we like going with a group that is open to sharing food and ordering a bottle of wine or two.

This is the third or fourth year that we have enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Frankie Rowland’s Salem. The restaurant offers a special Thanksgiving menu and the regular menu. We order from the Thanksgiving menu and the food is exceptional! The turkey and dressing is delicious and my husband especially likes the cranberry relish and bourbon pecan pie with ice cream! Of course, remember to try a pineapple martini - it’s a nice treat!😊
