Maple Lawn Restaurants

We've been to this restaurant about 6 times before. Last time was about 1 year ago. It seems that some things have changed from my memory. The menu is extensive and appealing. The wine list very sufficient. And all our food was great. But the ambiance and service were decidedly less refined and upscale than previous visits. Background music was now 70's rock. Just wasn't the mood I was looking for. And while the waitstaff was quite attentive, we were made to feel decidedly rushed multiple times. With plates full of food, if our fork was on the plate and not in our hand we were repeatedly asked if we were done. I finally asked if they needed to turn over our table quickly. The waiter said that was not the case and to take our time. But then again, he came asking if we were ready for take home boxes. Later, with full glasses of wine he asked if we were ready for our check. In addition, I wasn't looking for stiff formality from the waitstaff, but in some cases their interactions felt a little too casual. It made me feel as if this was my local pizza joint. So, all this being said, I would still go back because the food is that good and reasonable priced. I would just come with an adjusted set of expectations.

This is my second time going here. The service is always very good. Great location for individuals who are staying at near by hotels and need good food. I live locally however when I want to have good food, service and a quiet place to sneak away I go here. It’s like a hidden gem. Alex was awesome, he assisted me with my food and drinks for the evening. I will return.

First time diners and we will be back! Food was delicious and had unique touches to truly make this place special. Server James was a delight; we’ll ask for him next time we’re back :)

First time here and it was delicious. Service was a bit slow but that didn't matter to us because we were catching up with good friends!

Ally was our server and she was wonderful as was everyone there. The food and wine were absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. We loved everything about our evening at Smashing Grapes! We need a place like this in Columbia/Howard County.
