- JJudithvipSan Diego •58 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe had not been to any Chart House in many years and we live nearby so we went for a special night out. It was lovely and delicious, the service was casual and friendly. We watched the beautiful sunset from our table. We had the shrimp and mango stack, delicious. The chop salad which was remarkably good even tho it was just a salad. it was the no-cheese or meat option so it could have been boring, but it had chopped little peppers so it had a nice zing. The cod with mushrooms was delicious. We also had the seared halibut with pureed cauliflower which seemed like it would be light but was actually quite rich - almost a little too rich. They had a nice dessert menu. We went for the mud pie. Perfect. Beware the calorie content is on the menu for every item! The wine menu was hug and impressive but sadly we couldn't have any. Our waiter Marco was lovely. Valet parking was free and surprisingly quick for us. We will be back.More infoChart House Restaurant - CardiffPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Solana Beach•4.3
- HHelenvipSan Diego •51 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWent to PCG after a long absence due to retiring. Went with a friend and we requested a table with a view when I made the reservation. When we got to the restaurant for lunch, it was packed! Our table wasn't ready despite us being early so we patiently waited and before we knew it, the table was ready; about 10 min earlier than our reservation time (we were about 25 min early). BTW, there's only valet parking for $8 (which you would hope they would lower or make it on par with Jake's for $5). Anyways, we ordered salads. I got the beet and goat cheese salad which said it came on arugula except mine came on spinach which was fine since I love spinach. I added grilled chicken for protein. It was deeelish - maybe a tiny bit overdressed but not inedibie that's for sure. My friend got a cobb salad that looked great. Our server was very good - got us waters and drinks right away and checked on us regularly but wasn't annoying. Enjoyed our meal. It would be nice if they offered warm bread while you waited (as I think they did this in the past) but it seems every restaurant is now charging for what used to be complimentary.More infoPacific Coast Grill - CardiffPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Cardiff By The Sea•4.8
- MMarcSan Diego •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoThis is one of the nicest places in the area to sit and have a happy hour drink, which is all we’ve done until now. But we heard the food was good (the happy hour fries are outstanding) so we went for dinner. The food was really tasty, all of us very much enjoyed what we ordered. The scallops were very pricey at $46 for 3 scallops, but they were cooked to perfection. We’ll definitely be back (and I’ll probably have the pork chop).More infoWaverly Restaurant & LoungePrice: Expensive• American• Encinitas•4.6

Cardiff By The Sea is a beach community in southern San Diego County. As a planned community with a walkable beach and a lagoon with a boardwalk surrounding it, the city got its name through its planner's Welsh wife. Because of the year-round mild climate, you'll find plenty of casual dining restaurants featuring outdoor seating. The cuisine is centered around fresh Pacific seafood, especially Asian fusion and sushi. Coffee and tea houses are also popular in the area, and weekend mornings often find the coffee bars bustling. Italian and Mexican foods also provide a strong influence, particularly at the beachside restaurants. Two of the regional specialties include tilapia scampi and fish tacos with fresh tomatoes.
