Best Historic Restaurants in Cardiff By The Sea

The best thing about this restaurant is definitely the view. Our family was not too impressed with the food. We had the coconut shrimp and crab cake for appetizers. The shrimp were extremely small, almost laughable. The crabcake needed to be a little more crispy. It was kind of mushy. Two of us had the miso black cod with Asian vegetables. We were not expecting the vegetables to be in a soup broth. The cod was pretty bland tasting. We also ordered two filets medium rare. Both steak’s came out more like rare. One filet was sent back to the kitchen to be cooked a little longer, but when it came back, it looked like it had not been cooked any longer and was still rare. One of our parties did enjoy the salmon with pineapple salsa. The best part of the meal was the desserts. The caramel macadamia cheesecake, key lime pie, mud pie and chocolate lava cake were all very good. For $550 (including the tip) the view did not make up for the dinner. Our server was very good.

Relaxed environment with great food. Staff very attentive and food was an unusual combination of Baha, Indonesian and Hawaiian , thoroughly delicious. A must visit hidden gem!

Hostesses and waitress were outstanding and provided great service while at the same time not rushing us - so we could view the 4th of July parade from the terrace! Service has really been improving at The Inn. Keep up the great work! 👍

We had a wonderful experience last night. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The menu is varied, something for everyone. All 4 of us left happy. This is one of my most favorite restaurants in Carlsbad.
