- OolgaVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined on Jun 27, 2025Super cute place with great food. Olives and the walnut dip were absolutely the best in town. It's Persian cuisine with Armenian and Georgian wines. The decor is very well-done too which is rare for SF (designer-polished casual vibe). Photos on the walls and decor being originals from their grandparents which makes it all extra special. Love this new discoveryMore infoKomaaj Mazze Wine BarPrice: Expensive• Persian• Mission District•4.8
- SSeanVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •49 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 19, 2024Our go-to Indian restaurant in Bernal Heights. Excellent veg options including tandoori vegetables, paneer tikka masala and channa masala. The brown rice is also quite good! The atmosphere isn't anything special, but the food and service are the real reasons to come here.More infoTilak Indian CuisinePrice: Moderate• Indian• Bernal Heights•5

Discover Bernal Heights
Not content to ride the culinary coattails of its neighbor, the Mission district, Bernal Heights offers its own distinct array of cozy eating options. While the tide has certainly shifted from the days when it was nicknamed “Maternal Heights,” the familial vibe can still be found in the gourmet comfort food mainstays that dot Cortland Avenue and Mission Street. Between fine dining, mom-and-pop institutions, and even an overgrown backyard beer garden, it’s an ideal neighborhood for a bohemian-flavored lazy afternoon—or even date night. Every Saturday in the southeast corner of the Heights, The Alemany Farmer’s Market keeps its streak alive as one of the oldest in the country, running continuously since 1947. For the canine-inclined, pop into one of the numerous cafes to grab a snack and then head to Bernal Hill Park, an “off leash” mecca for dogs and their owners. It’s one of the city’s largest parks, and the perfect place to explore lush views—with or without the pooch.
