This was the 12th annual lunch at Savoro. We started taking a friend out for his 70th birthday and he immediately declared it "a tradition". We don't get up to Barnet very often but am happy to dine at Savoro when we do. Service is friendly and we have been served by the same waiter for most of our visits. The experience was not as good as my first visit, mainly down to the service, and that's not to say the service was bad, the staff were friendly and polite but the service came with more professionalism on our first visit. Other than that, the steaks are great and when you can order 2 kilos of meat for £45 and they actually cook it as you asked them too (medium rare always) how can you possibly ever leave unhappy. After visiting Chez Ton Ton for my birthday after sometime as we used to dine there a fair bit over the years ,I would say the vibe and the authentic food did not disappoint. The French speaking waiters is a lovely touch to add to its ski chalet French vibes .Food was tasty however the teas and coffee were cold. The waiters kept on playing with the music system which made it seem a little disco like instead of a peaceful dining experience . To conclude the most disappointing thing was that the service charge did not go to the staff but instead the owners and when asked to take it off or if there was the option to pay it in cash separately the waiter frightfully declined saying he would get in trouble if he did so.
