Essen war prima und der Service war freundlich. Der Preis war London-like, vermutlich wegen der Location. Etwas schade finde ich, dass man (obwohl wir acht Wochen im voraus reserviert haben), keinen Tisch am Fenster bekommt. Die sind den 4er Gruppen vorbehalten. Angeblich. Wenn dann ein Paar eintrifft, das irgendwie speziell zu sein scheint, sitzt es am 4er Tisch mit Blick aufs Meer. Das ist ärgerlich. Insgesamt war es um 20 Uhr voll und wider Erwarten recht elegant. Das haben wir unterschätzt. Nächstes Mal also eher casual chic :-)

The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

Während unserem Aufenthalt erhielten wir die Möglichkeit jeweils 3 verschiedene Tees zu kosten. Von den Sandwiches könnten wir nachbestellen, was wir auch gerne machten. Die danach servierten Süßigkeiten auf der Etagere waren köstlich. Diejenigen die wir nicht essen konnten, wurden für uns sorgfältig in einer elegant aussehenden Savoy-Schachtel zur Mitnahme verpackt. Der Service war ausgezeichnet und es wurde uns alles ausführlich erklärt.

A former travel agent in our beloved Fitzrovia (64’s older siblings Portland and Clipstone are just round the corner), we were hugely excited by the opportunity this blank slate of a site afforded us.

We’ve been able to build from the bottom up, and therefore design every inch of space to meet our hope for 64 Goodge Street. Namely, that it is a space in which guests feel utterly taken care of.

We are open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. We very much hope to see you soon.

Das Essen an sich hat eine gute Qualität, bis auf das Rib - Eye steak von meinem Mann. Die Stimmung war großartig, Livemusik und die Atmosphäre haben uns gefallen.

Die Servicekräfte sind unglaublich aufmerksam, freundlich und helfen einem auch gern, wenn man kein perfektes Englisch spricht. Die Kuchen und Sandwiches waren unglaublich lecker, das ganze Ambiente war ein Traum. Normalerweise entspricht dieses Restaurant/Hotel nicht meiner Preisklasse, aber für einen ganz besonderen Anlass sollte man sich das wirklich einmal gönnen. Ich habe sogar eine wunderbare Praline mit einer kleinen Kerze drin und eine Glückwunschkarte erhalten. Das fand ich super aufmerksam . Ich war sehr, sehr zufrieden!

There are five Bettys Café Tea Rooms in Yorkshire, each with its own shop where you can walk in and enjoy breakfast, lunch and an afternoon treat.

Bettys is famous for afternoon tea, and if you want to experience the finest we offer, you can book a table for our Belmont Room in York or our Imperial Room in Harrogate.
