We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

Ils sont clairement des pros dans leur domaine. Les présentations et les saveurs étaient impeccables. Le service était rapide et souriant, et le bar offrait un menu très varié. Marcellin est déterminé à utiliser des ingrédients locaux et saisonniers pour créer des menus parfaitement équilibrés qui se sont mérités trois rosettes - AA depuis 2008. La vaste cave du Clos Maggiore compte plus de 2000 crus et a été bonifiée plus tôt cette année pour inclure 400 vins supplémentaires à des prix allant d'accessible - à moyen de gamme. Nous sommes très fiers d'avoir obtenu le "Best of Award of Excellence" sans interruption depuis 2003 attribué par le Wine Spectator.

Founded in 2020 by siblings Jordan and Chyna, their idea was one that came purely from their desire to bring their grandparents authentic, traditional Caribbean recipes from their family home to the London food scene, with a fresh and modern take, inspired by their own upbringing in a vegan household. Fusing their love for plant-based food with their Caribbean roots, they identified a niche gap in the market for authentic, Modern Caribbean Vegan Cuisine. With five-star reviews across the board from both customers and food critics alike, the siblings have now opened their first ever flagship restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of Angel, Islington.

Occupant un ancien couvent médiéval chargé d'histoire, fondé en 1239, le restaurant a servi de réfectoire pour les moines, ce qui en fait une des plus anciennes salles de restauration construite au Royaume-Uni. Ce restaurant de 72 places sert un menu de style britannique classique et copieux, à base de produits de saison provenant des fermes et des marchés locaux, accompagnés d'une grande carte des vins primés. Il comporte également une salle de réception pouvant accueillir 50 personnes et un atelier pour 12 personnes proposant une large gamme de plats. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months.
