The restaurant’s daily blackboard specials and core recipes feature creative takes on fresh-caught fish not typically found on many inland-Florida seafood restaurant menus, including tile fish, trigger fish, sheepshead, hogfish and other local species. The Reel Fish menu includes signature classics like fried seafood platters, shrimp & creamy cheese grits, whole fried market fish, such as yellow tail snapper, and Low Country Boils featuring shrimp, PEI mussels, scallops and snow crab legs.

Central to the restaurant is a raw bar serving oysters on the half shell, broiled, steamed and Rockefeller, as well as ceviche and peel & eat wild-caught Florida shrimp.

As always the food was delicious and we enjoy the ambiance. We have dined here multiple times and have hosted family many of those visits. Service was quite slow this time, although we really do not mind so we can enjoy our dinner and wine. Others may not be as patient. Ran into an odd situation… the restaurant sent an email with an offer of $20.00 off $80.00. We were going for dinner regardless, but a nice surprise nonetheless. Ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer. Both were slightly discounted due to happy hour (we would have ordered anyway and did not even realize these items were discounted for happy hour… by $10). Ordered two mains, upgraded one to include scallops (knowing there was an up-charge). And a decent bottle of wine for $55 (at this restaurant one of the “better” bottles). Showed the email to the server at the end of the meal for the $20 discount, and she left to process. Server came back 3 minutes later to inform me that “you cannot combine discounts”. I paid the bill and left a 20% gratuity on the full, non discounted bill. Just odd. I get not combining discounts… say a coupon of some sort with another. But off a couple of happy hour items when ordering full mains and a non discounted bottle of wine seemed strange. I mean we could have not ordered the drinks and app and received the discount (I believe, even with narrow margins, there was something to be made even at happy hour pricing). And, the 20 off 80 is a better deal than 10 ultimately given for the drinks and app. To be clear, we do plan on returning, and did not expect the discount when I booked the reservation. Just perceived as an odd policy.

It was a bit noisy because there were lots of patrons celebrating graduation, but the three of us were able to speak in normal volume, so it wasn't intrusive. Our server, Morgan, was FANTASTIC.
