"Everything was great until our original server left on break. We never even saw our replacement server for 30-45 minutes. Luckily, we were not in a hurry to go anywhere. She apologized when she brought us our bill."See more
"We ate at Triple 8 before the P!nk concert at the Staples Center. Based on reviews I read I had expected slow service but that was not our experience. At the recommendation of our waiter we got the soup dumplings, fried Brussels sprouts and beef chow fun. It is pricey for Chinese food given the portion size but we were happy with our choice. It was worth the cost due to location and convenience to Staples Center. I would come back again."See more
"Overall a pretty good experience. Chicken was tasty and so were the biscuits. Took 45 minutes to get the drinks. Not sure if $55 for a whole chicken is worth the price. Steak was over cooked ( we asked for medium) it had some burnt ends from the grill fire. Waitress was awesome and the food in general was tasty. Ambiance was great and I’m a Laker fan, so I had to try it."See more
"We went for my cousins graduation from USC and everything was awesome! The staff is very kind and attentive and even brought out a special dessert platter for my cousin. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend."See more
"Don't let the valet guys scam you into paying more money, even if you have the ticket validated.
The food was GREAT, and the service was world-class. I loved the warmth from everyone except the scam that was the valet"See more
"My friends and I were in DTLA to see a concert at the Staples Center. Everywhere else within walking distance either had a ridiculous wait or required a reservation. We found NIXO on OpenTable and were able to walk right in and be seated immediately. We were given a semi-private cabana, which we all enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive, which was nice. The margaritas were top notch! Two of us had the house margarita and another friend had the spicy margarita. Both were fantastic! The food was decent and not ridiculously expensive (at least for DTLA). The only hiccup was that because the restaurant is recently under new management, the menu listed on OpenTable has not been updated and doesn't match their actual menu. Also, our party was asked for a credit card to have on hold, and our server charged the card before asking how we wanted to pay (we wanted to split the check). Other that that, NIXO seems like a hidden gem if you're looking for somewhere quieter and less crowded than the usual suspects."See more
"Great first time with a great server... Wait time was a little long but the food was worth the wait. My girlfriend had the special of the day, the short rib tostada (she actually had two) and it was amazing!!! I had the oxtail quesadilla and it was small, filling and very delicious... Hats off to the chef!!!"See more
