Originally from Mexico City, Chef Fernando Olea, formerly Chef of Epazote, has been enthralling diners in Santa Fe since 1991. Chef Olea creates sophisticated flavors using Old Mexico’s indigenous and culinary traditions alongside ingredients from around the world. His menu is deliberately small, featuring fresh and locally sourced produce and meats when possible.Nothing evokes the mystery of Mexican cuisine more than mole, a sauce of complex flavors that usually includes toasted and ground spices, seeds, nuts, chocolate and chile. Many mole recipes contain more than thirty ingredients and some recipes have five varieties of chile alone. Chef Olea is delighted to share his moles that include his "New Mexican Mole" that he created to commemorate Santa Fe’s 400 year anniversary in 2009. The large mural in the main dining room, was painted and presented to Chef Olea by Federico Leon De La Vega, a well- known artist from Mexico City.

The name Zacatlán surged from the origins of our chef, Eduardo Rodriguez. He was born in Zacatecas, Mexico (north-central Mexico), which is defined as "the habitants of the land where grass grows". Zacatlán is the nahuatl translation for "land with an abundance of grass", and that is where our idea of Zacatlán Restaurant began. Zacatlán Restaurant desires to continue to preserve the traditions for our upcoming generations, while bringing forth new flavors. These new flavors incorporate Southwestern and Mexican influences. We are established near the Santa fe Plaza, right off of Guadalupe Street. We want to unveil a new fusion of food for everyone in Santa Fe and those who visit.

Experiential authentic cuisine. Each cocktail, appetizer, and entree is a work of art…. Created, crafted, and served with passion and care. Everything about this restaurant is beautiful…. The wait staff, the paintings on the walls, and outdoor sculptures. The intangibles are the most impressive…. Chef Olea at the heart and center with love radiating in all directions. ❤️🌵⭐️🪇😘

I really enjoyed my tapas dinner at La Boca during my visit to Santa Fe! The food, service, and wine were wonderful! I particularly enjoyed the grilled artichokes, the pimenton-dusted almonds, kale salad, and delicious sherries and wine. I am greatly appreciative that they can accommodate vegetarian and gluten free (celiac) patrons - something that is lacking in many other "top" Santa Fe restaurants. I highly recommend La Boca, and will return!

Highly recommend the Udan noodles! We also had smoked pork ribs, kale salad, and crispy rice with tuna. All were exceptional, but the noodles were over-the-top good. The staff were attentive and friendly. We have been coming here for years because the food is consistently exceptional. Highly recommend!

It was our first time and the place really wowed us . From start to finish outstanding. Great service by Miranda who was always on point . Host stand very gracious and seated is at a beautiful table even though we had reservations for the bar . Noise level perfect , ambiance beautiful. Cocktails were amazing and the wine list was priced just right unlike places that mark up a bottle 6 times . Food was unique and Delicious. We had short ribs which was a special for the evening and was simply delicious. Our appetizers were fantastic. We would come back to Santa Fe just for this restaurant. Thank you to their entire staff for putting on such a great show and experience for us .

We dined in several restaurants in Santa Fe during our 5 day visit, and bringing our friends to Santacafe was my idea, and they could not stop talking about how great the entire evening was, from beginning to end! There were two other restaurants we will leave off of our list, next visit, because they were less than mediocre. My heart is still singing from the praises of our friends, about our evening at Santacafe. The service was beyond exceptional. The food was not only delicious, but combined extraordinary ingredients to make each dish simply amazing! The ambiance was elegant and we will dine here each and every time we visit Santa Fe! A restaurant not to be missed!
