French Cuisine with a Hawaiian flair. Established in 1982, as casual place- where Gerard creates his dishes by getting his ingredients only from local fishermans and farmers. A true pioneer in farm to table dinning, long before it became fashionable. In 1987 Gerard moved his restaurant just a half block up Lahainaluna Rd. to the Plantation Inn. He has quietly continued his culinary greatness the only way he knows how, making each dish exactly perfect. Sourcing only fresh caught whole fish directly from local fisherman and fruits/produce from his own garden and others on Maui and Big Island. Gerard’s team of professionals in the front and back of the house execute team service to perfection. A seamless flow in the kitchen continues to the front of the house where dishes are served straight from the oven to the guest. Servers work together to assure every table gets VIP service. Free parking nightly.Please note, we are currently closed on Sundays.

    Four of us went to Hula Grill for lunch on Dec 2nd. We had the premium Mai Tais (delicious) and two yummy appetizers, calamari and ribs. They were amazing. We each ordered separate meal and they were outstanding. Pineapple upside down cake was dense and delicious. Five stars for food and service!

    Cocktails were delicious. Anjou pear cocktail was unique and tasty. Old fashioned with Japanese whiskey was great. Andy’s service was excellent. Prompt but allowed us to relax also. Butterfish was cooked perfectly. Ribs were tender and tasty. And yes the ramen was delicious too. View was lovely and parking was easy.

    Food was outstanding! We made the reservation without knowing they would have a thanksgiving menu and were anticipating seafood, but could not resist trying the special thanksgiving selections. They did not disappoint. We started with the Ube bread, and with the melted honey butter and drinks, made a tasty start to the evening. The seafood coming to tables around us looked fantastic also and I only wish we could have had more time on Maui to return and try more. We will be back in the future!

    Put this restaurant on your list when in Maui! My wife and I had the special, pink snapper, along with the fish and lobster pasta, both were fantastic! The restaurant is open air, very casual, with live music, and to top it off service was great by our waitress!!
