I always visit Joe’s when in DC, Miami or Vegas. By far my favorite place for Stone Crabs. Enjoyed this visit as always and highly recommended going if you’re in the mood for high-end seafood.

We were invited back after the first unpleasant experience two months ago. Needless to say that they have ironed out the growing pains we experienced the first time around. Chateaubriand was a spot-on medium rare and seasoned perfectly. Accompanying vegetables and mashed potatoes (which I don't remember seeing the first time) were plentiful and delicious. Service was impeccable and detail-oriented (and perhaps over-the-top). We were treated like VIPs which we appreciated. Fortunately for us, the room we were placed in was not full when we arrived--patrons at only one other table--and we were able to have a relaxed conversation. But as the evening went on and more and more tables were being filled, our conversations were harder to hear...and the table of 10 next to us was still empty. So although yesterday's experience was much better (last time the restaurant was packed and we were literally yelling at each other to have a conversation), the noise level at full capacity will continue to be an issue in my opinion. Regardless, we had a nice time and we both enjoyed the VIP experience.

We ate here twice in our brief DC visit - once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was terrific. Complex compositions, tasty and well presented. I eat Caesar salads quite often and theirs was one of the best I’ve had. Both times we commented that the background music was enjoyable and not too loud for the room. Our waiter was familiar with the wine we wanted to try and it was delightful.

Entertaining relatives from out of town, I knew Old Ebbitt Grill would not disappoint. Ambiance was great and impressive, and food was delicious, and wonderful. Although server was very friendly and pleasant, she did not refresh our drinks. That was the only downside of service. Otherwise, everything was great!
