“Mi Vida” translates to “My Life.” However, in Mexico, “Mi Vida” means much more. “Mi Vida” is a term of endearment bestowed on close family and friends to signify love, care and importance. When one says, “Mi Vida,” they are telling someone special how much they mean to them. MI VIDA describes how we feel about our team and our guests. It is our expression of Mexican culture and cuisine as interpreted through the lens of Chef Roberto Santibañez. Our menu is rooted in the history and culinary tradition of Mexico while exploring the ever-changing boundaries of this vibrant and evolving cuisine.

If I could give more stars I would. We were celebrating our anniversary in DC and wanted to try one of Jose Andres’ restaurants. Exceptional service (I wish I had caught our server’s name but his initials are JPR), excellent food. We tried so many dishes - pan con tomate; jamón, aceitunas Ferran Adria; grilled octopus; mushrooms with poached egg; buñuelos de bacalao; and of course shrimp and garlic and olive oil. The chef kindly sent us a bowl of seasonal peas, sugar snaps and pea shoots on the house. We finished with a delicious pear sorbet and our server treated us with a glass of sparking wine. An absolutely memorable meal.

At first the hostess offered us a table in a far corner next to the door to the outside area and after asking to be moved she put us in what I think was a prime location-not sure why she didn’t put us there to begin with. The wait team and food instantly made me forget my annoyance at the hostess. For the next two hours we had AMAZING service and AMAZING food. Our waitress knew everything about the menu from drinks (cocktails and wine) to food/dessert. We had the perfect amount to feel full and so happy. It is not often these days to have an experience where you can’t wait to give them more tip than the recommended amount. Well done!!
