“Mi Vida” translates to “My Life.” However, in Mexico, “Mi Vida” means much more. “Mi Vida” is a term of endearment bestowed on close family and friends to signify love, care and importance. When one says, “Mi Vida,” they are telling someone special how much they mean to them. MI VIDA describes how we feel about our team and our guests. It is our expression of Mexican culture and cuisine as interpreted through the lens of Chef Roberto Santibañez. Our menu is rooted in the history and culinary tradition of Mexico while exploring the ever-changing boundaries of this vibrant and evolving cuisine.

My love and I enjoyed the cheeses, the toasted bread rubbed with tomatoes, the Paletilla Ibérica de bellota, and the sautéed pea dish. Their drinks were all fantastic too. I particularly liked the Margarita Donostiarra and their rendition of rum and coke. They also have some of the best amontillado I have ever had. The experience was was pricey, but we expected this, so we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this well-known restaurant. All in all, it is worth the hype! Jaleo-DC in a cool location downtown-- get a window seat to watch confused and tired tourists walk by while you eat some of the best Spanish food you will ever have. We will be back to try more items on the menu.

The good was amazing. We did the tasting menu with the cocktail pairing and the entire experience was amazing! Our server was a wonderful host through the whole meal! Tingles from the first course! Awe during the second! Surprise from the third! Comfort food goodness in the fourth! Extreme contentment in the fifth! Blown away by the sixth! Each paired with a complimentary cocktail! Highly recommend. It was the perfect way to celebrate my friend’s professional accomplishments!
