Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.
In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. Rocky Bottoms believes in enjoying the simpler things in life!
Sculthorpe Mill

Sculthorpe Mill’s seasonal menu changes regularly to make the most of Norfolk’s bountiful produce and all our core ingredients are locally sourced, foraged from land and sea before being passionately turned into award-winning dishes.

However, I won't be returning as the prices have got ridiculous. £29 for lamb but then you have to pay extra for potatoes and then extra again for veg. This place seems to think it's now in London with their pricing system. Whilst you don't mind paying usually for quality, you don't usually have to pay £29 just for a piece of lamb unless you are heading to a top West End restaurant.
