Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in St. Bernard

My partner and I had an amazing experience overall! From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. There are multiple servers who check in and assist throughout your meal, which made us feel well taken care of. Our main server was pleasant and easygoing, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. I definitely recommend this spot for celebrating a birthday. Just a heads-up—this restaurant doesn’t offer a complimentary birthday dessert, but we ordered the three-layer chocolate cake, and it was absolutely delicious (and huge!)

I found the food quality to be good, but the omakase assortment fell kind of flat. It was almost all nigiri style bites (I believe 13 in total with two crudo style dishes to start) overdressed and over-seasoned. I think crispy garlic was on 5 of them? There were some groovy flavor combinations for sure, a yummy basil oil for instance (but again I think it was on 3 of the nigiri) but I felt like the sauces were super strong vs the usual understated, subtle / taste the fish flavor I am accustomed to. It seemed like the menu was pre-planned and would be the same if we went tomorrow. Just not what I am used to. Generally the chef asks what you like and don’t like and we did not get that here. All cooked or heated items were heated with torch. I guess I just am used to a different experience with omakase, like a salad sunomono course, a soup or broth dish, maybe a yakitori or some clever chicken skin dish or a unique cooked fish dish? Definitely worth trying, but be prepared for a hefty bill (ours was over $500 for 3 guests). Oh one last thing, the service was great and everyone was super friendly!

Great ambiance Great service and even greater food.

I've eaten here before so i can't figure out why this visit was so lackluster.. The venue was fine, the service was great as usual. The food was questionable not the freshness but its presentation. Other times I've been here, I've had GREAT experiences. I just think some decisions need to be made to improve what's served and how it's presented at this pricepoint.

Excellent service. The plate lunch option was the perfect size for lunch. Our new lunch stop when we spend the day in New Orleans.
