We were on 1526 Sansom St. for 14 years and then moved to 1300 South St. We create gourmet Afghan food that you can find in Afghanistan or here at our Philadelphia location. We have mouthwatering flavors starting from our bread to our kabobs. Our bread's recipe and technique have been passed down from the founder's great-great-grandfather, who owned an array of bakeries and managed many restaurants in Kabul. Passed through generations to our chef, who brought delicious meals to 15th and Sansom of Philadelphia. Then from 15th and Sansom to 1300 South St. We have delectable food that you fall in love with and will bring comfort to you, from our meat lovers to our vegans.     I’ve been there many times in the past. Good food. Helpful and attentive service. Many many great choices on the menu. Our meals were both excellent. But the best of all, is their gelato. The best I’ve ever tasted. Worth a trip just for that….

    We had such an excellent time at WDGM! Big shoutout to the management staff- our server, Charles, for such a fabulous evening! Everything was exceptional- everyone was warm & welcoming. The food was just wonderful; we can not wait to come back and visit !!!

    The food at Black Cat Cafe is always fresh & delicious, thanks to the Best of the Main Line's chef Judy. The staff is friendly & efficient, even when busy. The gift area always has cute items to peruse. And the kittens & cats in the cages are always adorable....and I have to drag myself away before adopting them all. I love that the cafe supports PALS, where we adopted 2 of our cats over 20 years ago! Definitely 5 stars all around. But it's best to make a reservation, they get busy!

    This restaurant is worth the hype; be sure to make weekend reservations way in advance (they are strict about them). The meals come as small plates, and the waiter kindly equated the first grouping of plates to being appetizers, the second grouping as main courses, and the third as sides. My husband and I ordered the carpaccio portabello mushrooms and the roasted golden beets to start. Perfectly presented and the right meld of flavors in each. For the next courses, one dish out did the next. Meat eaters will not be disappointed. We finished with a small scoop of cherry sorbet with balsamic vinegar; be sure to give it a try. We look forward to going again the next time we are in Philly.
