- JJames ENew York City •8 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoI had high hopes for this restaurant based on prior reviews, but I was sadly let down. Let's start with service. This was great, and the waitress I had was excellent. I ordered an appetizer of the grilled bread with "good" olive oil. The good part of the olive oil is just regular extra virgin olive oil. My appetizer came, and it was delicious. There was shaved cheese on it and a balsamic drizzle, but not too much to overpower the cheesey char and hints of garlic. Next came my meal. If the bread was this good, my meal had to be as well. Sadly, here's where I was let down. I ordered the scallop meal with parmesan risotto, butternut squash, brussel sprout leaves, fried shallot pieces, and calabrian chili oil drizzle. Let's start with the good. The scallops were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The rest of the dish...flavorless. The risotto was just there. There was no tang from the parmesan and it hadn't been cooked in a stock or anything to impart flavor. The butternut squash had not been partially boiled or cooked, so you're chomping down on uncooked unseasoned chunks. The brussel sprout leaves didn't seem to be partially boiled or flash fried for crispyness, and the chili oil was not spicy as all. Nothing on this dish, with the exception of the scallops, was seasoned. Overall, I get the concept. They have a few locations and places struggle to appeal to all palettes, so everything is made with a baseline spice or a certain way. But a little garlic salt, black pepper, and onion powder go a long way. The price for the bread was $9.50 for 4 pieces. While it was the best part of the meal, it's worth $6.50 at most. The scallop dish was $36. You actually get a decent amount of scallops, so I won't factor that in, but the dish itself belongs around $29 or $30 and needs some serious spice help. I saw other dishes coming out that looked great, but if I went back I would proceed with caution.More infoNorth Italia - Fashion ValleyPrice: Expensive• Italian• Mission Valley•4.6
- HHeatherPalm Springs / Palm Desert Cities •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe had a wonderful experience last night. This was my third time coming here and I always leave so happy and full! My mom and I shared the Margherita pizza, polpette (meatballs) and Limoncello cheesecake, and everything was so delicious! I could have drank the sauce from the meatballs it was so flavorful and the meatballs were on point. The pizza is always my go-to, it’s so mouthwatering good. Tastes just like the pizza I had when in Napoli, Italy, and the limoncello cheesecake was to die for. The food was wonderful, service was so attentive and friendly, and overall experience was perfect. Siamo Napoli still stands as my favorite Italian restaurant in SD.More infoSiamo NapoliPrice: Moderate• Italian• North Park•4.9
- NNickiSan Diego •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoMy server was very attentive and explained everything on the menu. He gave us suggestions and timed the meal perfectly so we were able to enjoy wine, appetizers and chat before our main course. I enjoyed my tiramisu martini, and then walked to the speak easy after. Prices were very fair, and the food and service was great. Second time back, and will come again. With prices increasing everywhere, I know I can come here and actually enjoy spending my money.More infoCacio E Pepe Trattoria RomanaPrice: Moderate• Italian• North Park•4.3
