- SSamurai6vipSan Francisco Bay Area •533 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoFantastic feast at FwD on Memorial Day!! Sun was setting and my daughter and I really enjoyed our evening out, courtesy of the FwD team. Hats off to the Barkeep, started off with top shelf cocktails: Light of Los Serenos, FwD version of a margarita and South X Southeast, their tasty take on a daiquiri. Moving on to the appetizers, the hamachi sashimi with the apple ponzu, avocado purée and Serrano heat is truly a Shohei home run. Throw in the Salt Cod Fritters and Wild Spanish Octopus and I could have been standing in a crowded Barcelona tapas joint!! For the main, my daughter ordered of course, Chef Alice Mai’s signature Koshihikari Rice, an absolute one of a kind umami rich, risotto style dish you won’t find anywhere!! And I could not resist the hearty Steamed Manila Clams with that tangy bacon and bean infused tomato sauce with that crunchy Parisian baguette, my mouth is watering just writing this!!! For the after meal, what else but Alice’s famous Key Lime Pie ala mode with Mascarpone Ice Cream but wait, there’s a new dessert in town and it’s the Banana Cream Pie, just like they serve down in the French Quarter!!! Great service as usual, tonight by Jessica, another wonderful night out at FwD, the best hole in the wall this side of the Mississippi!!More infoFishing With Dynamite$$$$• Seafood• Manhattan Beach•4.8

- FFranvipSouth Carolina •32 reviews5.0Dined on Jan 2, 2023Great, unique, menu. Our server Jared guided us through all of our questions and our choices were excellent. Radicchio endive salad was more than enough for 2. Pinot Grigio paired well with the bacon cheddar biscuits and mussels. Skirt steak was tender and cooked perfect. Loved the family style shareable menu and would highly recommend.More infoManhattan Beach Post$$$$• American• Manhattan Beach•4.8
