Pride Month is a time for reflection—and celebration!

The modern LGBTQ rights movement kicked off in America following the Stonewall uprising in 1969 and has been commemorated through protests, marches, parades, and parties in the decades since. It’s all led to a legacy that has bled into the hospitality industry, where queer-owned restaurants and bars proudly display their support year-round, but especially so during Pride.

The below stories look at two historic LGBTQ establishments in New York City and Los Angeles that paved the way for inclusive hospitality in their communities; celebrate restaurants and bars beloved by the LGBTQ community in Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco; and point to the most rollicking drag brunches across America.
