Two food-world stars are uniting in Atlanta over pasta, caviar, and Champagne, all to support children’s cancer organization Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Local restaurant hitmaker Pat Pascarella is hosting Food Network star Joe Sasto at his mozzarella and wine spot Bastone! over two exciting dinners in August.
It’s all things Italy for Pascarella, who began making gnocchi with his grandmother when he was five, and whose restaurant group Porchetta has been making waves on the Atlanta restaurant scene. The partnership with Sasto means this only gets better for Italian food aficionados. Sasto worked for three years at San Francisco Italian favorite Cotogna and has competed on both Top Chef: Colorado and Top Chef: All Stars L.A.
Contributing to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization that funds cancer research and supports families, is personal to Pascarella. His grandmother died of cancer, and he wants to secure a better future for his two children. “When I found out about Alex’s Lemonade Stand, I fell in love with their story and how they operate,” he says. Plus, he hopes partnering with Sasto starts to build more “camaraderie” in the culinary world.
