Afternoon Tea, a decades-long tradition at The Brown Palace, is set amid the historic grandeur of the Atrium Lobby serenaded by a melodic piano. Guests enjoy a pot of properly brewed English tea accompanied by scones served with Devonshire cream and preserves, savory tea sandwiches, and a delightful array of classic tea pastries.

Atrium Cocktails are on Friday & Saturday evenings, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Sip on classic cocktails, wine, or a refreshing pint with charcuterie and other inventive dishes. Live music by The John Kite Jazz Quartet will complete an unforgettable and lively experience.

Witches Tea is October 31, 202. Halloween themed items will be served, while our servers add a bit of wicked.

Holiday Tea is November 14, 2022 through January 22, 2023. Please call 303.297.3111 x3223 for reservations. A credit card will be required for this iconic experience.

Worst service ever, our table wasn’t even ready yet they have a policy of 15 minute grace period and yet when we made sure to arrive on time the table wasn’t even ready and we had to wait for 15 minutes for our table. Service was horrible just because tip was already included. We were not allowed to order extra cream or butter. Worst experience ever

This experience was recommended by others so we decided to try it on a Friday afternoon. The sandwiches and the tea were quite good, as were the scones. The pastries/desserts, however, could have been improved. The service was friendly but lacked polish and professionalism that you’d expect of an expensive experience like this. The hostess was not particularly nicely dressed and our server mumbled and spoke very quickly, making us feel as if we were just one of many, many guests that had to be told the same thing that day. The piano player was a nice idea but maybe we were seated too close to the piano because it was hard to hear my dining mate talk. I wouldn’t rush back.

As usual Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace was wonderful. The staff is the best. The food is great. The ambiance is superb. We were delayed in our arrival for the reservation by over 25 minutes due to problems with Light Rail. I was able to leave a message that we were running late but did not expect to be as late as we were. I received a call back just as we were a block from the building. We were able to make it, but it was a little stressful. After being seated we were able to relax. The tea, the food and the atmosphere were more than enough to wipe away the previous unpleasantness. Qudos to everyone at the Brown Palace and the Afternoon Tea staff.

I brought my daughter, who is from out of town and is 44. I started bringing she and her brother when they were around eight years old. I thought it would be a wonderful place for them to learn manners and dining. It makes my heart happy that we’re still continuing the tradition for so many years. Yes, it’s a lot more expensive, but what isn’t? Everything was wonderful, the piano playing was outstanding, it couldn’t have been more perfect afternoon.

Severely disappointed in our visit. Sat three of us at a table for two and pulled over a banquet chair. Squished between us to walk, the banana scones were under baked, the cherry blossom was overpowering, the passion fruit was lost in ganache and the coffee cupcakes had unmixed flour inside. It was a travesty and since becoming a Mariott hotel it has slipped profoundly.

Pretty good tea service. Food was very good, but too many sweets, should have more sandwiches. They did ask if we wanted more sandwiches. Scones were excellent. Not a good value for what is served. Cupcake with candle for my three year old granddaughter’s birthday was a nice surprise. Still the best high tea around. Better at Christmas time when it is more festive.

I made a reservation over three months ago and we were sat at a banquet table with banquet chairs in the far back corner away from the main afternoon tea area. The seating section by the bathrooms was actually nicer than where they put our table for tea. I had to walk to the hostess stand to ask for our check and some to go containers as our waitress hadn't come back to our table for over 30 min because apparently they were all busy with guests in the main tea area is what we were told. If this was my first time there I'd never go back. Very poor experience sitting at a table in the walkway pretty much. So disappointed.

Hiwat was our server and they were so kind, patient, friendly and informative. I really appreciated the experience because of her. The food was really good, I love that they had vegan options available. We were celebrating my birthday so I did get a celebratory cupcake and candle. The ambiance was the perfect balance of calm yet vibrant. The pianist were a delight and the entire staff was friendly. I ordered the vanilla bean tea and it was delicious! Would definitely return.

My sister was visiting and this was a lovely experience for both of us. We had the basic tea. The serving staff are wonderful, professional and very attentive-tip them well! I think the tea service is a bit overpriced, but you can't get this experience anywhere else in the area, so for an occasional event, go for it.

If this was my first time for Afternoon Tea at Brown Palace, I would never go back. Felt like we were inconveniencing the staff for just being there. They rushed through explaining the food being delivered and left before we could ask any questions. Not as good as it use to be.

It's an experience not to be missed! Forrest is the best server, host, everything. Need more like him. And that's the issue. They were spread way too thin. It took for e ver to get cream, a 2nd plate and the people, other than Forrest tried real hard to not make eye contact. My neck was stretching trying to find someone to help. 3 adults, 1 child. $236 including tip. Therefore I expected MUCH faster service. Didn't even think to mention the tea water became cold waiting for a refill. Sad really.

Our reservation for tea was at 4:00. We arrived and the hostess said they were not ready for us and we would need to wait 30 minutes. She was curt and never even apologized for the wait. The server was wonderful, but the hostess really was awful.

My husband and I took our mothers here for a Mother’s Day tea and while it was a pricey afternoon it was a beautiful memory that we will always look fondly back on. The service was incredible. We were made to feel special on this lovely day.

I got violently ill 6 hours after eating at the BP. We think it was the ham sandwiches because my mom didn’t have those and she was fine. The service and ambiance were great, but not going back because no experience is worth 12 hours of getting sick.
