A word from Beast and Bottle
beast + bottle is a rustic American restaurant serving craft dinner and brunch.

Run by siblings Paul C. Reilly, who mans the burners, and Aileen Reilly, who oversees front of house, beast + bottle is located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.

The “beast” refers to the restaurant’s appreciation for the whole animal, utilizing all parts to honor its integrity. The owners’ relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors bring ethically and humanely raised, responsibly harvested and organic (whenever possible) ingredients to the table.

The “bottle” refers to drinks. b+b’s wine program is influenced by the European tradition of drinking wine how you’d like – whether that’s a glass or by the liter.

The menu changes whenever the kitchen pleases based on what’s in-season and what the cooks are enjoying at the moment. What remains constant is a steady focus on sustainability and versatility of ingredients.

  • "Dropped by for Easter brunch and had a wonderful meal! Great wait staff and quick friendly service. I had artic char eggs benedict that also included a light salad that was just perfect. My sister had a spin on pigs in blanket that was very good! I have been there several times for different meals and will certainly return!"

  • "I had wanted to try Beast & Bottle for so long and was not let down when I finally had the opportunity to go. Every course was delicious--interesting and unfamiliar combinations that we were really excited to eat, and the portion sizes were--gasp--filling! (I had the lamb ragu, my boyfriend the red duroc pork.) The service was outstanding--friendly and attentive without being overbearing (head-and-shoulders above the laissez-faire attitude of its predecessor tenant, Olivea). Wine choices were excellent and I adored their cute cocktails named for pop hits of yore. All weekend I was talking about/dreaming of the amazing dessert. I will go again, and can't wait to try another month's menu."

  • "I'd been for dinner a few times and loved it. The barmen are fantastic, and the food's just beyond anything. Made reservations online for a Sunday brunch, left special instructions, they were graciously followed to the tee, and my out-of-town friend just geeked out over the whole experience. The bourbon-Bloody Mary (or three) was an unexpected win. I mean, I knew you guys were gonna kill it, but my brunch experience really did exceed my already high (and hard-earned (and well-deserved)) expectations. I definitely vote with my dollars, and I'll continue to frequent you. Thank you for a wonderful, wonderful morning."

  • "Everything was great. If I had one gripe it would be our service was a little slow. However, we were enjoying ourselves so it didn't bother us too much. Some of the food lacked acidity but we enjoyed everything. The standout for us was the halibut with favas and chorizo. The desserts and cocktails were nice too."

  • "We had a great experience for our first time at beast+bottle. We definitely enjoyed the ambiance as it's quaint and cozy with unique fixtures. The vibe was great as the bar was packed and all the tables were filled. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and the server suggested a couple of great drink options - The Behind Two Ryes and Burning Down the Grouse - awesome drinks! We did the 4 course menu and loved each course - flatbread, quail, chefs crab gnocci, bass and lamb and dessert was a treat! We enjoyed it and will definitely be beack."

  • "Food and service did not merit the high prices. I am an accomplished home chef and frequent fine diner, I know great flavor and I don't mind spending money on a great meal, but our Beast and Bottle experience was a disappointment. Food was flat and under seasoned and the service was odd, for example our party choose to do the chefs tasting menu with wine pairings and we were served different glasses of wine with the same course, it tasted like they just topped off our drinks with whatever white they had left by the glass. We won't go back."

  • "Beast and Bottle was a fabulous experience! My friend and I enjoy trying new places and this meal tops our impressive list. Everything was top-notch from the cocktails to the amuse bouche to the incredible dessert (I'm still dreaming about the chocolate dacquoise) We ate the Tasting Menu with wine pairing. Sommelier JP was fantastic as he presented each wine - detailing the grape, region, history and why he chose that one for the upcoming dish. The entire evening was well-paced. I am eager to find an occasion to return!"

It took pretty long to even get wine. It wasn't terribly crowded as I went on a Wednesday, still busy for a small place though. I think I may have expected more."

  • "We had an excellent meal at Beast & Bottle for my wife's birthday! Staff provided a complimentary glass of champagne for each of us to toast my wife! Very thoughtful! Also, they brought out a complimentary b-day dessert for us to share! Definitely one of the great new restaurants in Uptown (and in Denver, for that matter)! All of the food was delicious! Excellent cocktail selection as well as wine selection! You will not be disappointed with a visit to this restaurant."

  • "Loved the look of the place, and the service was great, but we (3 of us) were all disappointed in the food. The gnocchi were chewy, the "risotto" was neither rice nor creamy and the pork on the fig and pig flatbread was chewy. The brussel sprouts were good, as was the tagliatelli. Drinks were just ok. No one wanted to order a second. It was a Sunday night, so maybe the B staff was working."

  • "We've been to Beast + Bottle twice and both times have been "wowed." The food is delicious. I had the sheep's milk feta frittata (yum!) and my sister in law had the mussels and they were HUGE and the broth was amazing. The service is impeccable. I have severe food allergies and the server was so patient and kind in helping me find a special order that would accommodate me. This place is part of our regular "rotation" now and I can't wait to go again and again with friends."

  • "While sitting at the bar, the bartender never inquired if we wanted a drink. Then it took 10 min. at our table to get something ordered. The waitress was knowledgeable but aloof, especially when problems happened. Was expecting more from the "bottle" list. Quirky by-the-glass wine list. Great gnocchi to start but then the fish was over-done and presented skin on top (couldn't tell if over-seared or skin at first). Uncomfortable first bites. The staff forgot the vegetable and tried to serve it as we finished. Wish there had been a decadent dessert to share since we were celebrating a b-day. Mainly ice creams or grapefruit tart. Great for a louder neighbor gathering but not for an intimate dining experience. Hope to try again."

  • "Staff was friendly and attentive (until the entree came), nice wine list, dinning room is nicely appointed, strange music selection. Small plate salad was enough to share and was delecious. Main entrees; the lamb tenerloin was ok, the pork was sent back (took almost 10 minutes before the server came to check on us). They took the plate back finished cooking it, replated it on the plate they origiannly served where everything else had gone stone cold. All and all disappointed."

  • "From start to finish B+B created a great experience. Staff was the perfect mix of friendly and helpful without being overbearing, needy, or annoying. The drink selection was varied and could suit any preference. As for the food; I don't think you could go wrong. Small plates were $12-20 with large plates $20-30. The mussels were probably the biggest I've ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed the lamb and goat dishes. The dishes were paired well with wines with assistance from our waiter. This was our best dining experience in Denver"

  • "Do you ever get the feeling that restaurants assign their "B" team to work weekend brunch? That is definitely not the case at Beast + Bottle. From the warm greeting at the door, to the spot-on table service, and the fact that owner Paul Reilly is making magic in the kitchen, brunch at Beast + Bottle is fast becoming my favorite part of the weekend. And the menu is so darn enticing that it takes my husband a good 10 minutes to decide what he's going to eat, grrrr. That's OK, I'll just enjoy a glass of blood orange + yuzu juice and a fresh-from-the-oven sticky bun while he tries to choose between the pork shoulder tostada or arctic char eggs benedict. I can't wait for next Saturday!"

  • "We had such a lovely brunch at Beast and Bottle. The ambiance on the patio on one of the first warm spring days was infectious. We had delicious bloody Mary's and started our brunch with the special donut. I had the ham croissant with an egg and my husband had the chicken and cherry sausage. Both were absolutely delicious. I also liked that the portions were big, especially for brunch. Beyond the food, we were extremely pleased with the wonderful service. Our waiter was fantastic and friendly and the service was totally spot on without being hovering. We had such a nice time, we could have stayed on the patio for wine and dinner!"

  • "Our reservation was for 7:30 but when we arrived on time, our table wasn't ready for another half hour. We were seated at the bar and given complementary drinks by an outstanding bartender. The wait wasn't a problem for us and the rest of the meal was great but if we'd have hired a sitter and were in a time crunch, it could have been a problem. The place is tiny so I know it's hard to predict turn-over. Food was all great, especially the pork."

  • "We have been to this restaurant three times since they opened earlier last year and can't wait to go back again. Their seasonal menu makes for a wonderful change each time we have gone. We have tended to stick to the smaller plates rather than entrees because we've wanted to try as many things as we could each time. We just can't get enough of this restaurant! Their drinks are amazing, their service is top notch, and the food can't be beat!"

  • "I decided to try this restaurant after reading about it in 5280 magazine. We decided to go for brunch on a Saturday. We arrived around 10:30 in the morning. We had a reservation but didn't need it, though by the time we left the place was full so it might not hurt. This restaurant is in a quaint area of Uptown, on 17th, and though it was too cold to eat outside the day I was there, the patio would definitely be a nice area to dine outside. I had a mimosa and the pizza carbonara, which were both amazing, and my friend said her bacon was the best she has ever had. The atmosphere is rustic but classy, and the wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Our water glasses were never less than 3/4 full. Definitely will go back."
