Ulele (pronounced you-lay-lee) celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the legendary young princess Ulele.

Located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, 400 yards from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Indoor and outdoor waterfront dining. Lunch and dinner daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Featuring intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on our 10' round barbacoa grill.

Ulele operates in the lovingly re-imagined 1903 Tampa Heights Water Works building, which also includes its Ulele Spring Brewery to provide a number of craft beers on tap. Next door to Water Works Park.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the indoor dining rooms.

    Everyone was good, normal nothing crazy and our waitress was lovely. The place is adorable and great indoor / outdoor space! I had the grouper it was good but a bit overcooked. My son had the pompano and that sauce was amazing better than the grouper. The wild rice had some hard grains but good flavor. The pompano came w shaved carrot that was fried, very very good! We also had the oysters and the char on them to me was very good, wonderful flavor.

    Ulele salad and shrimp poboy were delicious. The softshell crab sandwich was not seasoned. We have never had a problem here with things not being well seasoned.

    The food was really great, and the ambiance too, I am leaving 4-star just because it was annoyingly hot indoor, they don't have a great air conditioning system

    We were notified the AC was out, but it felt fine with the fans. The bigger issue was being seated upstairs above the kitchen in a smoky area, despite noting the birthday in advance. Service was inconsistent and missing for much of the night. Apps and salads came out together, and entrée was cold. No one from management checked in at any point. When I shared the feedback, the response was basically better luck next time. Disappointing all around, especially for a nicer dining experience.

    Food was delicious. The hot butter cake with vanilla ice cream was amazing. My boys love the oysters- said they were the biggest they’ve ever seen!!

    Wonderful food, tasty, great service. We had the McKay crab cakes, the soft shell crab cakes and the Pallardy snapper. All superb.
