The Lake House
We were give a gift card for our 50th Anniversary. We decided to
Go for Sunday brunch. It was very good. Friendly staff. We had a table
By the window that looked out over the lake and it was a beautiful sunny day.
We liked that the food is house made....scones and the jam which we started with.
Generous portion so took 2 home. Eggs Benedict was delicious
We enjoyed the service and ambiance
Excellent food and service. Great ambiance. Perfect for a special dinner.
Really nice ambience, great food, little slow service but did seem busy.
Great experience. Thanks Kevin Sky for stopping by and saying hello !
The view, service, ambiance and meal was great. Some unique items in the menu. Charcuterie was excellent. The only issue is that it can be a little difficult to hear as all the hard surfaces and open concept does not absorb noise. Still one of my favourite places to go to for an upscale meal.
We’ve been to this place many times and tonight we were severely dissatisfied with the service. Plates were not cleared, no other drink offered, and it felt like we were abandoned in the corner. Typically really amazing but tonight was sad.
Great wine selection, waiter was there to fill waters and speak to the menu, and had good timing in regards to leaving us alone
Had a lovely lunch, wanting to see the venue for possible event booking. Great food, friendly staff, great service. I would definitely come back.
Me and my husband enjoyed dinner for our 7th wedding anniversary. And we loved it. Will definitely be coming back. We got to choose where to sit and we love the lake view.
Lovely waitress and most attentive!!
I heard a lot about this restaurant and was not fully wowed like I thought I would be. The waitress did not introduce herself though was pleasant. THere were some unique menu options.
Too pricy for the amount of food. Not enough choice if you are not into bison, boar, etc skimpy on the bread birthday treat small piece of chocolate right out of freezer. Fairly attentive service.
Our thanks to the wonderful staff, their attentive service and great food. This was a special anniversary for us and we were given a marvellous table with views of the fireplace and overlooking the skating rink on the lake. Our whole meal was lovely, but the recommended bison strip loin deserves special mention. Also particularly appreciated was the time spent researching the wines to assure that I had one to compliment my meal but would not precipitate a migraine headache! Thank you for the special memories!
Food was amazing and the culinary staff delivered great food. If anything, the food would make us return. Unfortunately, the front of house staff was lacking - our table felt rushed to order, were not offered refills for wine (water was attended too) and meals were delivered with no explanation - one almost landed in my dinner mates lap.
Tip - Book in advance to secure a nice table; we ended up booking the morning of our reservation and found ourselves eating at the front door. Sadly, while the room was beautifully decorated and looked to be lovely but our table was left out in the cold.
Very good place to have dinner with friends and family.
Always good food and a great time!thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disappointing lunch. My wife only had two scallops in her fried scallop dish. The quiches were tasty but the plates they were served on were cool. Serving hot food on cool plates is very surprising when the Executive Chief is Swiss. The burger was good but that's not much to say when going to what has been a fairly classy restaurant. Poor value and not a destination restaurant anymore.
First time here. Celebrating our 49th anniversary. We were welcomed with a friendly smile and sat at table near a side window. Table settings were fine. Night had set so the view if any was non exsistant. We found it a bit cool and had to put on a jacket. People at the table behind us were a bit loud but acceptable. They honoured us with champagne for our anniversary. Nice touch. Service was good. Food selection was ok, but fell short of our expectations. No shrimp. No lamb.
Reserved a table for a birthday dinner. Given probably the worst table of the dining room.
Ambience of the restaurant was nice. But service was painfully slow. There was a big private function happening so maybe that had something to do with the slow service, slow food to come out, etc. Crab cakes were fell apart very easily, but good taste. Had the rib eye which was nothing to write about. Wife had the Turbot which was a better dish.
Dining chairs were hard and uncomfortable for some reason. Did notice some others had different chairs with cushion.
We reserved as a birthday, but other than the greeter wishing a happy birthday, no other birthday courtesy. All in all, quite disappointing considering the reputation the Lake House has on Open Table.
For the price we were paying we expected better service and more than one roll for each person when requested. Our server was very pleasant but did not seem well trained.
Place was at capacity yet Service and food was outstanding as usual.
The Lake House is a great choice for lunch or dinner. Service is always excellent, as is the food.
We were a group of 6 people, one of whom is celiac and diabetic. The Lake House staff (and particularly our server Darcy) went out of their way to accommodate the requests of our celiac/diabetic diner and in fact all of our requests. Our entire party thought the food was fabulous. Our server, Darcy, gave us excellent service and made the entire evening exceptionally fun and memorable.
Our waiter, Darcy, was great. His recommendations were the best.
The Lake House never disappoints. Food is delicious and a great wine list.
Everything was fantastic, from start to finish. The appy's were tasty, the main course was delish (we had the chicken and the scallops), and the desserts are to die for. It was hard to choose between the options. The drink menu had some very classy options for the discerning taste buds ......we had Prosecco, Scotch, and Cognac, which according to a man in the know, was top notch! This guy knows his Scotch!
It is a lovely restaurant, and I can't wait to go back!
We arrived early for our reservation of a party of 5. We requested to sit at the bar for some cocktails while we waited on the 5th guest to arrive.
Aislinn attended to the bar and I requested a popular cocktail from the cocktail list.
I was presently surprised with a very flavourful and delicious spiced rum and JagNog cocktail. The rest of the guests ordered a variety of other options. We were offered to seat at any stage we wanted to, at a beautiful table with high back chairs in front of the fireplace.
We decided to be seated shortly after that. Our 5th guest arrived and we placed our menu choices soon after that. Darcy our server was very professional and knew when to be visible with service around the table.
Both Aislinn and Darcy were providing service in a professional and timely manner through out the evening.
The chefs appetizer and entrees were presented with a very obvious love and commitment to their craft. And we all throughly enjoyed the food and dining experience.
Thank you, The Lake House Restaurant staff for a great evening.
Food was good, I would say the quality is slightly above average, with slightly above average prices. Obviously the main selling point is the ambiance and the view of the Lake. *Be warned though... They charge you $1 for water and $4 for coffee (Sunday Brunch). It feels a bit that I'm being nickle and dimed. Service was good, but again, maybe average, not truly indicative of fine dining. $11 for their Creme Brulee desert definitely steep for what you get.
Delicious!! Fresh oysters were fantastic and the mussels were divine 🤗
Charcuterie was great. Boar was dry and over cooked. The sides for the boar had no taste except for the burnt offering that was supposed to be incorporated. The burnt offering tasted...well...burnt! Turbot was nice but dry/overcoooked. The sticky toffee pudding cake was ok but not as fresh tasting as before. The chocolate mint dessert was terrible. The macron was hard inside...never experienced that before. The ‘mousse’ was not light and fluffy but very gel like. Couldn’t eat it.
Service was attentive and they tried to accommodate. Service was very good.
Excellent lake-view table was reserved for us. Excellent and non-intrusive service. Prompt and high-quality food and drinks. Reasonably-priced!
our server was fantastic, funny friendly and fabulous! koodos to him. for the cost - a little pricey considering the little food that comes with each order but the food was really good. liked the fact that you recognized our anniversary.
The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Small portions, a little bland and overpriced. The wait staff was very friendly but the whole place seemed a bit disorganized and the service was slow.
The service was exceptional and all the entrees we ordered was amazing. Would definitely recommend getting the scones!
Excellent food and good service
As usual, the lake house was excellent!
Three ladies had a very nice Birthday luncheon.A sunny lovely day the view was lovely as there was a fresh blanket of snow on the lake and surrounding homes. We had a lovely server-very attentive, professional and friendly. Our food was delicious-we ordered quiche and scallops. We ended sharing a very delicious sticky toffee pudding. Its a nice place for a special luncheon.
Its time for this restaurant to do a little updating/maintenance work..Our table had pieces of wood missing from it and I noticed the chairs need restaining or need to be replaced.
I will definitely return to this restaurant for special occasions.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Lake House. Great ambience, excellent service and the food was exceptional.
Awesome experience. Very special and great staff. I would recommend this restaurant for quality, service and special ambiance.
It was so cosy and intimate. Great drink selection. The service was impeccable and all the food was tasty. My only suggestion is that they add cheese to the amazing charcuterie board as it was great but would be even better with cheese.
