The staff went out of their way to accommodate the physical limitations of our 90 year old parent. We were moved to a more accessible area which as very much appreciated. The duty manager who seated us and took initial orders and then server were attentive and very professional. Our meals were first rate. Reason for 4 star for ambience is the choice of music did not work for us from a dining pleasure perspective and the sound level as we found it made conversation difficult.

Specifically asked for quieter area as my elderly parents were with us ( for sons birthday) only to be put in crowded, loud area with 2 big birthday parties. When I walked to bathroom I discovered another area that had people seated & it was significantly quieter!!! Out of 8 or so Red wines listed, only 3 were available. Shocking that a Prime Rib Restaurant would only have 8 to choose from when most restaurants have a longer list, but then to be told they actually only had 3 in stock was majorly disappointing when we were going to drop over $500 for dinner ! Everything else was great, great service & food was good too.

Bonterra is one of our go-to restaurants, the food is always amazing and the ambience is excellent! I usually go during warmer weather to sit on the best patio in Calgary, but new years day in Calgary is not conducive to dining al fresco :-) so this was my first time dining inside - not as lovely as the patio of course but it was still very nice. The food was so good - there was 6 of us for a birthday dinner and so we were able to try a good variety of items on the menu, everything was well prepared and delicious, and the Bartender's Baby cocktail special was a big hit. Best of all was our server, she was an absolute delight and very attentive and friendly (without overdoing it).

My first time there. Nice ambience, great service and excellent food. I will go back there again. The only negative is that my girlfriend is celiac. They said they could replace the bread with chips and all would be good, and they literally brought out a bog of chips (in a serving cone) with the meal. Really?? 😲 In this day and age, you can't be bothered to have a few rice crackers on hand for this king of situation? I mean, come on...

This was the 2nd time we hosted a business dinner meeting at Bolero and it was another success. We spent at least 4 hours there, because we has the meeting and visited a good two hours before we ate. The servers were attentive by refilling beverages but were not annoying or rushing us in any way. The food was delicious, bacon wrapped steak was my favorite, the buffet was plentiful and our reservation was later in the evening at 8 pm. While we ate and then finished with more "work talk" they did not once ask us to hurry and leave due to it being late and them needing to close. When we were ready to leave they even sourced a cab for us. Definitely recommend this unique restaurant to any and all.

I came to this restaurant because of the good reviews, the place is nice but not the best, food is way below expectations, bread was stale and cold , the steak was not made as we ordered it and also cold, the mushrooms seems to be so dark as if it's canned mushrooms, and the server who was serving the table is way too inexperienced in fine dining. I was booking this dinner expecting a totally different experience and definitely not going again, it's so not worth the money nor the time.

We were worried at first, since the hotel was full, but the resto was very quiet at dinner time. Thankfully, our fears were unfounded! The poor waiter was also the bartender and cleaning up the tables, but he managed it all with ease. The cocktails were great, then food…excellent!!!! Even if we stay elsewhere in Banff, we would return there just to eat. Their buffet breakfast was also great. And, both meals were reasonably priced too. Loved it!
