So happy that they’ve reopened!
So happy to be back in the old school ambience of The Grill on the Alley!
one of the last old Beverly Hills classics. While we have lost Chasen's and others, The Grill on the Alley is like going home; to a good home. The service is classy, classic and excellent. The martinis first rate. the Fare is familiar and comforting and excellent.
Everything was fantastic, looking forward to coming back.
Food was great! Environment: perfect! Service : excellent!
Very nice place to have a peaceful delicious dinner...
Returned to the Grill after probably 10 years of going for the first time!
AS good now as it was then! Its a great place! Good Food, great cocktails and wine, and you forget you are in L.A.
Definitely recommended to go with adults
Caesar salad was excellent as was the Sole..
Lovely evening for our friends birthday
Good hidden gem after a day of shopping on rodeo.. no crowd which means no wait
We are so excited the Grill on the Alley has finally reopened. My wife’s steak was over cooked and fatty this time, but we didn’t really care. Though she didn’t eat it nor did I, the servers and staff were all excellent.
Hoping next time steak tartare
A very present atmosphere with quality food. One of the old established restaurant with knowledgeable waiters where you can enjoy a meal & are able to talk and hear.
Although it is not that old, it is "Old School". A fine example of what can be achieved with premium food, exceptional ambiance and impeccable Staff. I have been coming since it opened, and now that it has Re-Opened I will be back as often as I am able. Do not delay, make a reservation and get there as quickly as you can and stay as long as you can.
perfect as always, Can't goo wrong with their Cobb salad and a gin and tonic
One of our favorites. Love the staff and chicken pot pies are always the best
The food was fine. The service terrific. Very few patrons. Understandable b/c it’s more of an older crowd hangout.
If you order a bottle of wine whatever you do, don’t order the Rombauer chard. $120 bottle and $30 a glass....absurd
Most of the wines are overpriced but this one is indefensible.
Restaurants have to understand that they have to luer people back. Exercising reasonable pricing (3X wholesale)
Would be a good starter. Or 1/2 price wine on Monday - Thursday for the next 180 days also works.
Our first time out during pandemic. Felt very safe. It was quiet, social distancing was in place. Waiter/staff respectful and the food was excellent!
Everyone was very careful and took all precautions due to the pandemic. Glad to be back!
Great place for some traditional American fare food. Their pot pie was so delicious and the crab cakes is a must!
This was the last day of freedom lunch date before the Co-Vid lockdown! After a morning of shopping at Saks we made a last minute lunch reservation at The Grill on the alley and we were so happy we did. Everything was delicious per usual. Service was impeccable and such a chill mood for a quick bite! I cannot wait until Dine-In resumes! See you soon!
Service was excellent and our dinner was very good.
Good was okay, steak did not have much flavor
Food & service was great, it was basically a ghost town (thanks coronavirus) but the staff were great.
Crab cakes are outstanding, they have the best sourdough bread.
Thought the lobster salad was a bit bland
Perfect evening. Grill on the Alley simply never disappoints. And always something makes it even better than 5 stars. This time it was the waitstaff.
Food was delicious. Staff is very attentive. It was a lovely evening.
Excellent food and perfect, cozy ambience for lunch or dinner. I always come here when I'm in town and they always remember me or act like they do. Friendly and welcoming. Busy restaurant, so reservations strongly recommended. Beef, chicken and fish selections are always first class.
From the moment I walked it was phenomenal. Valentine’s Day dinners can have tons of pressure and I picked the restaurant this year. I’m so happy that The Grill on the abbey was my choice it was a true dining experience. The staff was so poised and pleasant and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. The food was simply perfect for lack of a better word. The lobster bisque is a must and the cocktails are so delicious. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for what I would call a high class steakhouse. The ambiance was elegant yet hip and vibrant. I am for sure going back and telling everyone to go. I’m looking forward to trying their happy hour also. 5 stars!
Wonderful dinner and experience...service was exceptional!
Food and service were great! We brought in a birthday cake and they kindly cut it and put a candle on it!
When visiting LA it’s one of my go to places. Still love it after so many years
Fantastic from start to finish. The place is tucked away in a side street off of Rodeo Drive and you get the sense of entering a speakeasy! Very cool atmosphere. We added a person to our party late and it was a non issue for the staff who accommodated is quickly and politely. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food was incredible. My steak was perfect and three of us had the Jon Dory which was incredible. Sides were generous and delicious.
A shout out to the bartender who made a masterful martini.
It was a pretty large dinner tab but, hey, it’s a high end steak house in Beverly Hills.
Amazing meal and our server was engaging and fun
Everything was excellent, the food, the waiters, everyone!!
I was nervous that the new owners of my favorite restaurant would make changes to the decor, the menu, the staff--all of which I have loved for over 20 years. To my relief THE GRILL is exactly as it has always been-superb service, delicious identical menu and the same classic loving atmosphere. Congrats to the new owners for having the will to measure "progress" and profits by not changing anything!!!!!!!! By the way---"whats the specials list tonight?? ANSWER: THE GRILL ON THE ALLEY!!
Marvin L. Wolf
All three fish entrees of Lake Superior whitefish, John Dory, and Dover Sole were excellent.
Over the many years we have walked through their door to enjoy a night out with old friends, the food and service have always been the same high quality. Consistency is always one of the keys to success in the restaurant business.
We had a great time!
Always top notch..... a little too noisy and pricey though.
It was a great dinner . We have been waiting to go out and celebrate my friend’s birthday and it was just perfect . Food is always great and we love the ambiance and service
Amazing service Adam is the best ! Food was beyond delicious !
Awesome and great experience
