The Grill on the Alley - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
I was impressed the last time that I had a business dinner at this restaurant, but this evening I'm not sure what happened as it was unacceptable - slow. Did I say slow!
Initially management was exceptional in taking care of our seating request and our waiter was great too, but had he had to deal with a very slow bar and kitchen which truly affected our evening. The restaurant hadn't even hit stride for a Friday dinner crowd and it still took 15-20 minutes with a follow up request for beverages?
I still would recommend trying it out and would hope that this was just a rare situation that occurred that Friday evening?
I eat here on every business trip to L.A. Service is always outstanding and personalized. Food is top quality. Great bar and wine selections. Good atmosphere. I always recommend to friends. I wish there was a smaller option than a 12 oz steak or filet. I can never finish a 12 oz steak, let alone a larger one. A little too warm the night I was there, a.c. could have been turned up a couple of notches. Will return again.
Really nice, true restaurant with great food, impeccable service and a great atmosphere. Almost like being in New York City. There are enough trendy hot spots with overpriced drinks and tiny food in LA. Thank goodness for this dining experience. Thank you, Beverly Hills!!
This is usually my favorite and celebration place. I always order the same thing because I love it so much, something off the menu and they didn't have it this time. I wanted to branch out anyway so I had what many people say is their favorite thing there, the John Dory. This is a very pricey restaurant. My fish came in several pieces, it had basically no taste, maybe it was overcooked and/or under-seasoned. In the past I've trusted the kitchen to do the perfect thing. I would have been more disappointed had it not been for excellent service and one of the best martinis of all time.
Been going there for years. Always excellent. I enjoy the clean, classic, old fashioned ambience they have created along with of course excellent food. I always get the NY steak or the Ribeye and always excellent. If you like a kind of restaurant that reminds you of the old days like the TV show Mad Men, this is the place. The waiters have white uniform and the place is a throwback to the old fashioned steakhouse. It is great not only for special occasions but also great for everyday dining, provided you have the budget for it.
