TerraCotta Wine Bistro
Our varied menu features both large and smaller portions of daily entrees that encourage guests to sample and share a number of dishes.
TerraCotta Happy Hour continues all day long, with over 60 wine by the glass options available for $6 every day until 6pm.
An opportunity to introduce a dear friend to the food scene in Santa Fe began with a warm, cozy dinner at the always creative and delicious TerraCotta Wine Bistro. Offering a delightfully varied menu of favorite dishes combined with new entrants for the season, we quickly settled on the famous onion rings and shishito peppers as starters...both were exceptionally good. The evenings clam and corn chowder was rich, not heavy and chocked full of diced clams, sweet corn and complimenting peppers. Entrees featuring planked salmon with maple mustard glaze and fish and chips consisting of three large, crispy grouper filets were delicious and satisfying. A new dessert of dark chocolate mousse offered just the right touch of sweetness to round out the meal. Service was friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive...in other words, near perfect. Thank you, Whitney.
The food was exceptionally good and innovative. Loved my glass of wine selected by my attentive server.
A lovely and friendly setting for truly delicious food; hard to imagine a better bistro experience.
The atmosphere and service were fabulous. We ordered the oysters and sadly they were fishy tasting, but our server quickly removed them and apologized. Otherwise... my husband loved his wedge salad, and our branzino ad tenderloin were wonderful! My husband also ordered the molten lava cake for dessert... he said is was awesome! We will definitely be back!
Birthday visit. My wife had shrimp cocktail and French onion soup and I had a chicken liver mousse and French onion soup. We topped it off by sharing A wonderful keylime pie. We had a Italian Pinot Grigio.
Had an Open Table reservation early in the evening and was seated in one of the most cramped areas, even though we found out as we left, there were many other more preferable tables open that apparently not been reserved.
Nothing more to say than the people are great, food is great, and experience is phenomenal!
Great food. American cuisine. Vegan and meat!
Some live music. Great selection of wines for every price point. $30-40-50
Although there were parts of our dining experience that were good - the food, the wine, the overall ambiance - there were issues with service that were bizarre, and I believe a result of poor management. Our waiter, although very friendly, didn't seem to know the wine or food menu very well, served us very hard, day-old bread (why was that even available?), and had our entrees delivered a few minutes before our salad course. There wasn't room on our tiny two-top for both salad and entree dishes. My wife decided to decline the salad she had ordered since she already had her entree. Our waiter apologized profusely for both the confusion with the order of service and the delivery of hard bread (which he replaced with fresh bread). His lack of experience had us scratching our heads at how management trains their staff.
I might recommend this place based on the food quality or the wine list, but with reservations regarding service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our very first visit to Terracotta
Nice piano music while we ate!
I sat at the bar. Restaurant was not busy. I found the bartender to be rude and dismissive. She was not welcoming as though she was angry I chose to sit at the bar. I would thank her, but no acknowledgement of any kind. Very Unpleasant.
Great food especially the steak and crab/corn dip!
We go to Terra Cotta a few times a month and take friends who have not dined there. Everyone loves it! Delicious food, good service and nice value. Sit outside on the back patio when the weather is pleasant. You won't be disappointed!
Had dinner in the bar seating, and Emily was a great bartender and server
Brushettas were excellent. Wine list was very extensive. Many good choices.
Generous portions of delicious food. The service was wonderful also.
Everything was wonderful. The ambiance is romantic - the food inventive and tasty, the service wonderful and timely. We had onion soup, a house salad, shrimp cocktail, plank roasted salmon and chocolate cake and a berry pudding. All were done tp a T. We also had chicken schnitzle. That was the only thing I would have changed. It as a very large serving but it wasn't pounded thin like I expected, and it didn't have much flavor - just like a breaded cutlet. It was cooked perfectly but I would have wished it had more flavor in the coating. However we would definitely go back.
Excellect service, varied selection of appetizers and entrees, extensive selection of wines at very fair prices.
Terra Cotta wine bistro was a very nice experience! We are new to Santa Fe so have little to compare it to, but the rooms are charming, with original art and comfy banquettes. The owner visited our table and is charming and helpful. The waitress was the same. The food is delicious and well-presented. Our only problems were slow service and very high noise level. Go earlier, before 6 pm and get the $11-15 wines by the glass for $6! Selections are good.
TerraCotta is exceptional not only because the food is excellent and the wine list incredible, but because they are so accommodating to people’s culinary needs. One of our favorite spots in town and we Always bring out of town guests here!
Took my lady to TerraCotta Wine Bistro on our first night together in Santa Fe - I was looking for a spot with good food and wine that was quiet and outside the plaza. TerraCotta hit all the right notes - we were given our choice of seating, and landed on the front porch, away from the action and closer to a beautiful sunset. Our server recommended a fab bottle of red wine to pair with our respective meals. Food was great - bruschetta, fried chicken, salad all top-notch. Great ambience on a cool late summer evening in Santa Fe, would highly recommend.
The owner was very friendly and shared suggestions for things to do as it was our first night in Santa Fe.
The food was very tasty we shared the bruschetta. You could pick for different flavors. The fig Brie was my favorite. Then we had entree salads.
The wine list was good.
We shared chocolate mousse. Very dense style.
The back patio is very pleasant; the interior of the restaurant is bright and cheery. I have enjoyed all the dishes I've ever eaten here and the quality is consistent. My dining mate was a little impatient with our service for dessert, but I was eating more slowly, and our server may have been deferring to my speed.
We went here with a group of 7 and we all loved our dinners. The fish and chips were amazing
Lovely restaurant, great food and nice people. I was happy to find a restaurant in Santa Fe that does food that isn’t spicy!
Very enjoyable place and food was excellent
A charming restaurant location and ambiance. The food choices on the menu are interesting and the wine selection is good. I had the Branzino and my husband had the Beef Tenderloin. Both prepared perfectly. The cheese plate and port pairing/tasting was also very generous and delicious. We definitely will go back whenever we are in Santa Fe
Excellent with a few items not seen as standard fare. Patio seating could use an upgrade, especially in the front area
We were traveling through Santa Fe and fell on this delicious and delightful gem. From the extensive wine list and unique dinner selections, we were well-satisfied. I really enjoyed the gazpacho that had a creamy cucumber and feta twist to it! Amazing!
First time dining here but was not disappointed. Excellent and extensive wine selection. Lots of dining options as well. Our server David did a great job taking care of us. We highly recommend this dining establishment.
Nice evening spent with friend and family! Service was great, owner came out to say hello and comped our birthday desert. Had a nice time and appreciated everything
This restaurant satisfies the soul with expertly prepared dishes. Start with the bruschetta, 6 options from the traditional to inventive. The wine list is expansive and will fit any of the fabulous entrees. Don’t miss the dessert, the dark chocolate mousse was especially decadent.
Varied menu, lovely assortment of bruschetta, nice house salad. Mussels this time dry and stringy but the broth tasty. Nice wine selection. Great inside and outdoor ambience.
This place is a gem. The patio in summer, overlooking a sumptuous rose garden, is a delight. Food, as always, was superb!
This charming restaurant has a tiny front porch and large back patio for dining, but the small inside areas are very pretty, also. The food choices are interesting and there are plenty of wines by the glass. We enjoyed the brushetta, but the corn dip was too heavy. Our waitress had zero personality but was efficient. We would go back, but would ask for a different wait person.
My husband and I were here for dinner with two friends. No wonder it is ranked highly. The food, service and ambiance are all tops.
This restaurant could use an upgrade. The menus have been the same for years and seem old and dirty. The wall alongside our table definitely needed to be cleaned and wiped down well as it displayed dirt and splattered food/drink stains. I want to like this restaurant but it just feels like it has been neglected and could use a little more care. I came for the Bruschetta and was really disappointed. The toast was grilled but was not crunchy - it was soft, dense and even difficult to cut into. Hence, it was also tough to chew. Seems like they were cutting corners, grilling a bunch of toasts and letting them sit around for a few days or more to absorb moisture and loose all the crunch.
This restaurant was highly recommended by friends but we were disappointed. The oysters were mostly bead crumbs with no taste of oyster. The polenta was dry and served with vegetables which were even drier. I could not eat it. My husband enjoyed his Ahi...I had a taste of his and indeed it was delicious. The creme brule was unremarkable. The staff were not friendly, our table faced on open door to the kitchen and all of it’s noise We will not return
We think this restaurant is one of the BEST in Santa Fe. Every time we go to Santa Fe it’s first on our list! Food is so special. Wine and beer excellent. Always. This past visit was not the greatest. Our server was almost nonexistent. Drinks didn’t come together. (No big deal). But we had to ask for the beer. Mix up in my food. I got something with mushrooms. I hate mushrooms. So the correct item was ordered by a delightful young lady. The onion rings ordered was never ordered. But the “new server” took care of everything. The original server stopped by and actually said “I pressed the wrong button for your dinner”. Surely this is a ONE TIME HAPPENING. We love Terra Cotta.
