Modus Ristorante es un nuevo restaurante en el Financial District y sirve comida italiana pero, sorprendentemente, nadie tiene interés en llamarla "rústica". Sam Genkov, el propietario del Bravi Ristorante (un favorito del área por 16 años), así como el chef Bruce Woods, quien trabajaba en Brassaii, son quienes se encuentran detrás de Modus. Woods no es ningún extraño en la alta gastronomía italiana, pues trabajó en Il Posto a finales de los años 90 y se convirtió en chef ejecutivo y copropietario de Centro después de quedarse a cargo en el lugar de Marc Thuet. El menú de Modus muestra a Woods de vuelta en su elemento, al recrear clásicos italianos reconocibles y convertirlos en creaciones de gastronomía fina.
