   Indoor and Outdoor music was way too LOUD. We and others could not even have a decent conversation. We asked for the music to be turned down, it was and then eventually turned back loud gain. No restaurant should have its music so loud.

   The bang bang shrimp were delicious as a starter and we really enjoyed the mains too. Thanks for a lovely meal. Service friendly and seats comfortable. Maybe a little dark inside - but patio heaters outside if you prefer.

   Great dine-in experience at the Fox on John. $9 early bird brunch deal is great value for money, and the food was scrumptious. Ample menu items to choose from. Nice ambiance inside and service was friendly and attentive. Would come back again to try lunch and dinner meals!

    Early morning service, pre-Mother's Day crowd. Far too few servers on staff, management standing behind the bar while staff were running. Bless them, the four on duty were trying hard to manage the room AND patio. We asked for coffee from the server. Then from the supervisor as she poured water - which she refused and said she'd send over the server. Then again - twice more - from the server. It eventually showed up at the end of the meal. Comped. Food might have been good - but it came out cold. Salt and pepper? Sure, one packet of each dropped on the table - not per person, 1 takeout packet of salt, 1 takeout packet of pepper. Not quite sure what to make of this place. Just understaffed? Overwhelmed? Just bad?

    Hair in my truffle eggs but server took care of it. Bad mimosas in rocks glass very short in the glass and barely any Prosecco. Other than that very good.

    Went for an early Mothers Day brunch. Asked to be seated inside where it was warmer, but the TV’s were playing soccer, which is fine but they were so loud we couldn’t hear the hostess. Asked if we could move outside and we’re told no, because we were already sitting down and requested inside on our reservation (didn’t) it would be at least a one hour wait to sit on the, at the time quite empty patio. We were then reminded we had 1.5 hours to eat our bottomless Mimosa brunch. Food was great, service not so much.

    We visited the bar on a Friday night for a Leafs game and anticipated to stay after for the DJ. The food was amazing, however the service really was not up to par. We waited sometimes over 30 minutes for our drinks. We had a dedicated server and as there was 8 of us, they charged us an 18% or 20% gratuity on our bill. The bar was not full after the game, so service should have picked up. The DJ was honestly disappointing. We had to move on somewhere else. After reading the reviews here, I did expect a lot more.

    Great happy hour specials on Thursdays! Went on a casual date night and were very happy with our experience. The Aperol Spritzes were delicious. The food was as expected for a pub. The patio is super lively and fun, you really feel the pulse of the city. Service was warm but it was clear that the bar & kitchen were backed up because of the sheer number of people there. We didn't mind, our servers were kind and courteous to make up for it. The bathrooms could use some help. They're quite stinky and not wheelchair accessible, FYI.

    Limited Menu out of which few items weren’t available. We had Spinach dip which wasn’t really great and Cauliflower deep fried, which wasn’t also a great option to go by. Only 3 Cocktails available from the entire menu !

    Not worth the $180 dinner - couldn’t get waitress attention for salt even though she would look right at me - finally I called her and she turned and said to me “yeah what’s up” - she came and did a table check after everyone had finished eating - she was not attentive at all. Food was super bland - my husband got a beef melt and you couldn’t even see the Swiss cheese on it - you had to scrape the bun to see any hint of cheese - Even though we visit the theatre near there often we will not be returning or recommending this place.

    This was my second brunch visit to the Fox. The menu is great and the prices are reasonable. This time I got the smoked salmon benedict. It was pretty delicious, until the croissant that it was on became extremely soggy. I would not order it again unless it came on something other than a croissant. Friends had the steak and eggs which they thoroughly enjoyed! The mimosa tower was well worth it for the five of us. Our server was nice, but when she brought the water jug, we had to pour our own (which I guess isn't a big deal) and any time anything was delivered to the table, she would leave the table before we could ask for sugar for our coffees or salt and pepper for our food. We asked someone else for these items. I would still go back as it is a great spot for brunch!

    Don't expect a fancy boutique brunch restaurant here. This is a pub and as such it serves glorified pub food. The reviews all seem glowing and I was fooled into thinking this is a must visit spot. It's not, it serves frozen tater tots and standard pub fare in a pub environment. Two mains with two coffee's and 1 orange juice cost $80 and I left completely unsatisfied and still hungry.

    Came to Fox on John on a fun Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Had an inebriated server who took 20 minutes to take our order, then brought us the wrong order, finally brought the correct order of 3 drinks a full hour after us being there. Lastly, when we asked for the bill because we wanted to get out of there ASAP, he brought a bill with incorrect charges. It wasn’t a surprise when settling the correct bill took more time. We left cash on the table and went to a different bar. Disgraceful, especially on a birthday.

    The food was very good however the service was slow. It was a good thing that we gave ourselves lots of time. Also they kept bringing us the food for different group - it wasn't a terrible thing but I did feel bad for whatever group wasn't getting their food quickly

    Great experience overall and the staff went out of their way to seat us outside to avoid the very loud soccer game inside. The salad was excellent but the eggs Benedict was poor - overcooked eggs, not enough hollandaise sauce and a dry croissant. The kitchen is clearly very good but the eggs Benedict must but better in a brunch restaurant.

    Not sure what's happening with Toronto restaurants but seems after covid many are lacking in customer service. I came here because in the past when going to watch a show at the princess Alexandra theatre we have gone here because it's next to the theatre and never had bad experience. Yesterday, I had made reservations for 5pm but we got to Toronto early and I asked if they could take us at 4pm. It wasn't even busy, had two maybe three tables with people and so I'm not sure why the girl thought she should seat us at a table beside the bathroom door. One of the chairs was literally behind the door people would be opening in and out where one of our backs would be hit if someone was aggressive in opening that door . I completely said no and asked for another table. The table she decided to give us needed to be wiped and I had to ask to wipe the chairs that had food on the seat cushion. I got annoyed because she could clearly see that the seat cushion had food stuck and needed be wiped better or just give me another seat. She walked away and our server came and could see I was annoyed and not going to lie ready to walk out. The server tried to wipe it off but couldn't and just switched chairs for me. If it wasn't for the server we got , my ratings would be lower. I totally forgot to bring my pills and am extremely allergic to allergy. She was great and attentive to my allergy and asked my top three choices and went to the kitchen to see if any of my choices had dairy or could be made without dairy. She was great server.

    Evening with my Grand Daughter. Great location close to the theatre, only issue is that the restaurant is VERY NOISY difficult to have a cross table conversation.
