The service was terrible! They mixed up the order across three tables. Then swapped it. No steps were taken to ensure other guest didn't start eating before they gave it to us. So many other poor things happened. Would not go back.

had an incredible time celebrating my boyfriends birthday here over Brunch — deliciously tasty food, great ambience and live music and incredibly kind service [thank you Ciara :)] am bummed I’m not local to Canada/Toronto — 100% recommend to those who are !!

Throughly enjoyed lunch as I always do at Fox on John. Appetizers were great as were all of our main dishes. Very convenient location to theatre goers and in September, to TIFF!

Had one of the most unpleasant dining experiences here. I had asked our server to bring out a slice of Tiramisu as a birthday cake around midnight for a small celebration. However, she brought it out at 11:40 PM. While not ideal, I let that go. The real issue began when it came time to pay. The total bill presented was $122, which I paid along with an additional $10 tip—despite the server’s cold and unwelcoming attitude throughout the evening. A few minutes later, something about the total didn’t sit right with me, so I requested a detailed receipt. The server seemed surprised and said that only the manager could print it, and that it would take about 10 minutes. Eventually, she returned with a bill that still had errors—one of the items was intentionally priced higher than what was listed on the menu, which pushed the total above $88. I pointed this out, and only then did they “correct” it and bring out a revised bill showing the proper total of $88 before tax, which came to $99 with tax. But here’s the kicker: even on that corrected bill, they had printed a second total of $122 at the bottom—clearly trying to justify the original overcharge they thought I wouldn’t question. It was obvious this wasn’t a mistake—it was a deliberate attempt to overcharge. Once I called it out, they processed a refund and suddenly blamed a “new system error.” And just like that, the server’s attitude flipped—now overly sweet and apologetic. I chose not to create a scene, but the experience was unacceptable. This was not an accident; it was intentional. I strongly advise anyone dining here to triple-check their bill before paying—because what happened to me was not an isolated error, it was a scam.

Its a nice spot to go have a late drink and eat. They also have really good after 9pm drinks and daily specials. Our waitress Lauren was so amazing and friendly. We had a little mix up with our food but the taste made me forget all about it ha ha. Boy oh boy was the food delicious.

We had to sit inside on couches as outdoor tables were full. DJ played this deep base music which was impossible to talk over without shouting. The food was just OK. David our server was excellent. Otherwise this place was a bust.

We had dinner here before going to The Lion King, and it was fantastic! The service was superb - our server Lauren was so friendly and welcoming, and their new system is very efficient. The food was excellent - my lobster pasta from the Weds specials menu was so good without being over-rich and was the perfect portion size, and our tiramisu was perfectly light. It even came with a huge sparkler! I had noted the reservation as the special dinner for my birthday celebration trip, though I also told them my actual birthday was 3 months prior, so this was above & beyond! The only downside was how loud they keep the music, but everything else was just wonderful. Highly recommend!!
