Service was quick, bread served with the meal, a variety of price ranges, the staff was hospitable, good liquor and beer selections, will definitely make this a go to when we are visiting Denver. Beautiful atmosphere and design,

Maybe this was just the post-Thanksgiving blues, but we weren't served for 55 minutes and the waitperson never checked back with us. I had to go to the maitre'd to ask where our food was. Then the waitperson said it would be right up and we still didn't get it for 10 more minutes. We ended up barely making our scheduled meeting. I expect a lot better from the Brown.

Unfortunately Ship Tavern did not live up to the standard it set as must do dining spot in Denver. The chicken in the greek salad was overcooked and dry. The fish and chips were okay but the coleslaw was super soggy. Only the onion soup lived up the quality that Ship Tavern is known for. Won't give up on this restaurant but definitely not rushing back either. Service and ambiance was outstanding as is expected

My dinner took 3 tries to get it right; when it finally came out the cheeseburger still wasn’t right but I accepted it anyway. (I mean three tries, c’mon.) it was supposed to be a cheeseburger on a plate, No bun, fries on a separate plate. Never happened. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the prime rib were cold and not at all tasty. We finished our meal and the plates sat on our table, NO exaggeration, for 25 minutes. We finally pushed them to the end of the table to get them out of the way. We were never offered dessert. And by the way, the choices on menu are few and not enticing. And overall, not “healthy”. Definitely not coming back, definitely not suggesting friends come.

Love this place. 20 years of coming here and, unfortunately, this was embarrassing for a proud ship. Service was great from our waiter who kept trying. First two wines were out of stock, sparkling water not in stock, and food tasted good.....although the soup was sent back for being cold, the french fries were sent back for being cold.

No problems, I realize there is a need for turnover, but on a slow weekday, that shouldn't be a problem. We were asked to relocate to a different table so a party of 8 could be seated. We should have been seated correctly from the start, even if it meant a longer wait to be seated. After all you are a hotel where people tend to have longer gatherings.

They started out by accommodating us for our 30min early arrival time. No one ever came to ask how the food was after it was delivered. The crab cakes were flavorless and the wings were under done. Waiter did not even comment on the food that was not touched or offer boxes for take home. Waiter was annoyed that we asked for separate checks to submit for meal reimbursement. Getting checks was a long process and had to be fixed twice.

Wish he would have checked in a couple extra times instead of walking by my table like he was wearing horse blinders. Lol Will I return…maybe after they remodel.

Great venue, been going for 50+ years. The chef needs to put the chicken pot pie back on menu. Fish and chips - terrible. If I had not been with guests would have sent meal back to the kitchen. Don't waste your money of the fish and chips. I peeled all the dough off the fish. Not a crispy batter at all, more like raw pancake batter. Chef should be ashamed of himself for serving this meal. Even the "chips" were undercooked nad hard. But, the Old Fashion was great. Paul Harter, Phoenix, Arizona

We sat at the bar and our bartender Danny was great. Later we sat for dinner and the food was ok. Ordered the ‘famous’ prime rib med-rare. It arrived pretty well done. I get that it’s a roast and there isn’t unlimited rare pieces, but that should be mentioned when ordering. It was leather. The wine selection was good, but the pricing made no sense. Things like $28 a gl or $190 for the bottle. The one below it was $27 a gl or $104 a bottle. That’s some pricing I don’t understand and nor do the staff when asked. The ambiance is fun and so was staying in the hotel. If they dimmed the lights and stepped up their game it could be great.

Food was overpriced for what we got. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, we got the seafood pasta and chicken picata and there wasn’t much flavor if I’m honest. The charcuterie board was fantastic and so was the wine though! Great service, just lacking on the entrees.

Runaway quickly, do not dine at the Ships Tavern. We ordered the crab cake and fish and chips. The crab cake arrived cold and we sent it back. The second crab cake was not much warmer and the flavor was weird. The fish and chips arrived room temperature and the taste was overwhelming with oil. We will never dine here again.

We have been to the Ship Tavern many times over the years. It seems to be going steadily downhill and this may be our last visit. Food was marginal at best, mostly bland and uninteresting. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was barely edible. Others in the party found the same thing. Cocktails were very expensive and only ok. It is a big disappointment but we have seen it coming for awhile.

First time to the Brown Palace and Ship Tavern. Friendly service and fun atmosphere for sure. My slightly dirty martini was so sour either it was half vermouth or spoiled olive juice. Swapped it out with a wine and it was just fine. Good chowder and side salad and the meal came quickly. I went with the 16oz prime rib which actually looked closer to 20oz. Too bad it came out medium well and not medium rare as ordered. For $60 a cut, I would expect better attention to this but the au jus was good and I was hungry, also didn’t not want to send a second item back. Another diner with us had the same experience with her cut of prime rib. The mashed potatoes were incredible but the vegetable medley was undercooked, borderline raw. We finished off with some of their signature macaroons and they did not disappoint. A fellow diner had the chicken piccata and enjoyed it along with her salad and lemon drop martinis. At their price point, there are far superior steaks and fare in the immediate area. We agreed we might try the Palace Arms even though the food seems to come from the same kitchen. Cut the prices at the Tavern by 40% and I would give it another shot.
