We have eaten here numerous times and the food has always been delicious, the staff prompt and very friendly. The location is very convenient for a restaurant of this caliber. Very enjoyable. Will definitely go back again. We enjoy the changes to the menu because we can be assured they will always feature Canadiana!
Very disappointing- food and service was terrible. I’ve been here for dinner several times and it’s always been great. However this weekends brunch was terrible. Pankcakes like foam rubber- no taste. Very undercooked bacon dripping in grease. Waitress seemed unsure of everything. Food was not served all at once. It was just overall not the lovely brunch we’d been looking forward to.
We love the Canadian themed menu for our guests from San Francisco.
A fantastic menu and excellent service! We recommend Selkirk Grill Patio aand Restaurant to Calgarians and visitors. It's nice to come on the Heritage plaza concert nights on Wednesday evenings in the Summer.
We had a great server who was very attentive. We were disappointed we couldn’t sit at table we wanted especially when it stayed empty for 1.5 hours. But was great food and fun to be so near Music in the Plaza
Really enjoyed the patio and the ambience of sitting overlooking the Heritage Park old time square. Lots of ambience and ability to visit and chat.
Service and food were great. Shared the lobster roll and daily flatbread. Really tasty
Fabulous service from the moment we walked in. The waiter handled all of our requests and there were 7 of us celebrating a family birthday. My request to find the contact information for the featured artist was met by several of the staff and that was much appreciated as well.
Very nice location for ladies lunch. Food was wonderful.
Yes have been here many times and always great from the service to the food and atmosphere
Love coming here
We sat out in the patio which is very enjoyable and it is nice that the patio isn’t near roads.
For a small number of customers and sufficient wait staff - it was frustrating not to able to order promptly. Worse was trying to extra drinks and dessert. We gave up and had dessert elsewhere.
Loved the Wednesday night free blues concert while we ate our meal.
We enjoyed Wednesday night on the patio while the Music in the Park was playing. It's nice to be able to hear the stage area from Selkirk's patio. We enjoyed mussels, charcuterie, a salad and wine. Food was great. The green salad was so fresh and delicious.
Nice setting in Heritage Park just outside the gates. The service was friendly, and the music low-key so we could easily have conversation. Our meals (Atlantic salmon, and Halibut) were done just right and artfully presented. On a sunny evening we would definitely try the patio.
All good, except for 1 thing..
They should be offering a menu.
The adult portions are far too large ( and costly )
Most of the food was left on the plates
Brunches are for families and must be designed accordingly.
Otherwise, an excellent outing!
We love Selkirk Grill. It really is difficult to find a quiet place with excellent ambiance and service with a good price point in Calgary - but Selkirk Grill is that place. We've been there a number of times and are never disappointed. We'll be back!!
The offerings of this restaurant may be limited but all are stellar. They offer salads made from greens grown in the gardens of Heritage Park; half-priced bottles of wine if you go no the right night and a prix fixe option (3 courses for $35...great value). The food is well-portioned and delicious. Selkirk Grille has an excellent pastry chef and confectioner and I'd encourage having any dessert. I have only ever eaten outside in the early evening...the ambience is wonderful, the tables protected from a west wind and one can see the reservoir to the south.
Staff were friendly and helpful. There was an oopsie on an order which was made up for very efficiently by our server. The food was excellent. Lovely outside table on a beautiful day. We'll be back!
I have been to the restaurant many times and have always had good meals. My recent visit was the first Brunch. For those of us that had eggs we found they very over cooked. This was also the first time I have ever had eggs Benedict made with beef- didn't like it.
What a wonderful experience, a hidden gem. Service and food top notch.
Could have had more duck confit in the risotto dish
Best prime rib I’ve ever had. Courteous service, innovative desserts, delicious cocktails. Exactly the date night experience I was after.
We went to listen to the group playing in the gazebo. Not the best place sound wise for the gazebo but good music, good food, pleasant ambiance. Lovely evening.
Lovely evening - restaurant was quiet.
Great service, very nice ambience, the food was lacking.
The food was really great. Creative and very tasty. Sadly, the service almost ruined the night. An older gentleman, who was surly, pompass and utterly devoid of charm. It was my birthday, and his demeanor put a damper on an otherwise lovely meal. It was our first visit - and our last.
Pretty good service. No real kids menu. No spoon provided until asked 2 people. Unfortunately there were too many flies in the restaurant, which made the experience really irritating. But the food was good. The waiter friendly and attentive.
Father’s Day brunch - great food!
Main thing is QUIET. Many restaurants think more noise is better - NOT true !!
Nice ambience - interior design.
Good service and food. A little pricey but worth it.
Excellent service with great food made for a wonderful evening.
Excellent staff and service. Nice ambiance, great patio
Good food - not excellent. Price point too high for everyday dining which is too bad. Would like to go more often, but not at this price point.
Overall the food was great. I asked for my eggs over easy and they came sunny side up and not fully cooked. So that was a little disappointing. But otherwise the food, atmosphere and service were great. They have a nice little outdoor patio and Heritage Park is a lovely spot. You can get free 90 minute parking but you need to push the 90 button first rather than put your plate number in first. They need to tell people that.
I love the Selkirk Grill! Quiet place so you and your friends can actually talk and hear eachother!
We had a wonderful lunch. Food was great. I find I don't have to worry about the food as I have never had a bad meal and I come to this restaurant on a regular basis.
Service is great and you can have a good conversation as not noisy at all.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone as always guaranteed a good meal.
It was a lovely meal and a great server. We found that to relax and enjoy our meal we really needed 2 hours, which is how long it took for us to have three courses. The parking does not take time to eat into consideration when allowing only 90 minutes free parking. Free parking in the evening for supper, and possibly even for lunch, should be 2 hours free parking.
Reservation process was good. Lunch was VERY nice and the service was good. Thank you.
We e always liked it. Good food, great service, nice place to go for a special occasion
Good meal and nice ambiance. Was able to have nice dinner with family and have a conversation without yelling and asking people to repeat themselves.
Steak sandwich was well done vs medium, how I ordered it. Although there are blinds, it does not go all the way up so, we had sun in the baby’s eyes the whole time.
We celebrated my mother's 95th birthday with friends. The atmosphere is quiet, which makes for good visiting. The staff were most attentive but I have to mention that the dining room wasn't very full. Which is something that should be remedied as the food was delicious, lots of good choices and the wine was half price on Thursday. They also had a fixed price menu for $30 and it was extremely good value and very tasty. I would challenge any Calgary restaurant to have desserts as fine as we had. The lemon tart disappeared on all 4 plates where it was ordered. So if this is a restaurant in your neighbourhood, head on over. Lots of parking but many people in Bayview, Eagle Ridge, Chinook Park, Haysboro and Pump Hill could easily walk over - and then walk off your calories home!
