A group of eight ladies went for lunch and we all enjoyed our meals. We were given separate bills which we appreciated. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch.
We took an elderly family member for Thanksgiving lunch yesterday and we were very impressed. The service was excellent the food was awesome. We ordered their carrot cake with cream cheese ice cream on it! I will definitely go back for another piece of that! The restaurant is beautiful and was quiet enough that we could enjoy each other’s company. The price was very reasonable as well! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Hi Jody, Thank you for the kind review and we are glad that you had a great Thanksgiving lunch with us. We are looking forward for your next visit.
First off the food was very tasty and nicely presented. But service was less than desirable.
We arrived right on time and stood at the front door with not a staff member around for over 10 mins. It was tempting to just check myself in and seat myself.
Our waiter was attentive for first course and in fact was hovering around our table anxiously awaiting for us to put our forks down so that he could bring our main course.
Then he was gone without a word. With no beverages for our meal. We sat there unattended to for over 30 -40 mins unable to catch anyone’s eye. When someone came over and announced she was to take over the table and she forgot. Good she admitted it, but wow how can you forget when the restaurant was on,y 1/3 full with 4 -5 tables occupied. Our table was cleared, drinks refilled, desserts served and then a second disappearing act took place. No where could she found to get our bill. Tempting to walk out at this point.
We flagged down another staff member and we were able to speak to the manager. Apologies were made, our bill cut in half, and a promise for a better experience next time.
I would be interested in going back because the food was good. I hope training improves.
This was an excellent choice for lunch! The service was impeccable. The food was fantastic! Fresh, very tasty, tasted absolutely wonderful! Would highly recommend it!
Waiter was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. Great suggestions. Mussels were a little too large and fishy for my liking but thankfully my date was willing to eat my share, lol. Will go back and try the charcuterie board next time.
Really liked the ambience and setting. Service was friendly and welcoming but a bit slow. We thought the brunch menu was a bit limited, and indeed even in that limited menu one item was 'sold out' ... one of us ended up choosing something from the lunch menu instead. We all really liked the quiet and unhurried atmosphere, and the very reasonable prices were a welcome surprise. We would definitely love to come back, just perhaps not for the brunch.
I took my friend for a bday meal and we could only make the time for the patio menu. It was fantastic. Ambience was perfect. Food was amazing. We shared everything we ordered and I would have thought a fine restaurant like this would have separated the portions for us which they didn’t. And the waiter didn’t refill our wine glasses once with the bottle I purchased. However, for the price I was ok. Also, the wait staff seemed bored in between lunch and dinner and various servers kept trying to clear our plates and take orders for dessert despite the fact I had pre-ordered for her bday. But I will go back again and again, was fabulous overall.
A jewel of a spot! Incredible ambience and the food was fantastic. Especially enjoyed the butternut squash soup made from their own garden.
We went there before on of the ghost tours and had a lovely experience! The staff were all welcoming and helpful. The food and cocktails were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I ordered the quinoia salad with salmon on top. If I had not had a piece of salmon, which was very good, I am not sure there was sufficient salad for the price charged. Otherwise all was good.
The food was amazing, and a special thanks to Shelley for the fantastic service!
We had a very attentive waiter and the food was excellent
My friend and I had a wonderful experience at Selkirk. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made sure everything was to our liking. The food was spectacular. I highly recommend Selkirk Grill
Friendly staff who were always attentive, superb food and great ambiance!
The setting of the Selkirk Grille is fantastic.
The website for this establishment most certainly sets an expectation and anticipation for an experience.
The food presentation and flavour is among the best in Calgary in my opinion "A+". Some may say it is pricey, however we were pleasantly surprised with the serving size. Three of four of us ended up taking the leftovers as we wanted to have desert. Unfortunately I had to settle for the Coconut Creme Brule ;-). It wasn't my first choice but they had run out of the Cherry Bomb. Nonetheless the second choice gets a "A" .
We had out of town company and treated them to a beautiful day at Heritage Park. It was Fall Fair with lots of activity. Our friends were very impressed with the very organized fund raiser and the smiles on patrons, volunteers, & staff.
We chose to dine at the Selkirk Grill for lunch. Rudy was exceptional as a server. He worked to find something that I could eat on the menu. Thank you to the kitchen for accommodating my allergies.
The food was delicious and all diners were pleased with the presentation.
Great, easy meal with a vice atmosphere on the patio.
It's nice to have an upscale restaurant with great food and ambiance in the southwest suburbs. I come here for lunch mainly but occasionally for supper. I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's a good place for business lunch as you don't have to raise your voice as in a lot of places. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed
Great food! 100% recommended
Food overpriced for what we received.
We had a wonderful server named Dolan; he was clear, professional and understanding as well as genuinely friendly. The food was well worth it. Had a wonderful time.
Great ambiance (we were on the patio). Brunch menu is good but very limited - you can order from lunch menu after 11:00
Great location to listen to the music on Wednesday evening, they should validate your parking if you are eating there IMO. Food was great, service was excellent
The special was absolutely amazing! It was difficult to have a dinner conversation as we were enjoying the meal so much. The maitre'd picked up on a brief "happy birthday" to my wife and presented her with a special dessert at the end of the meal. Truly impressive. Always a 'go to' place when we want to impress guests.
My wife and I had the tenderloin special is was great meal, unfortunately our quests had the risotto special and commented that it was OK at best. It was a pleasant evening and overall quite enjoyable.
Fresh ingredients in soup and entree so food very tasty! The serving group works as a team so everyone was attentive.
A gem of a restaurant in Calgary southwest . The food is always great and the value for money excellent .If you are meeting for business the noise level is perfect for conversation .
The Thursday night 1/2 price wine night is a nice feature .
Overall excellent without having to go downtown when you live in south Calgary.
we enjoyed the food and the service was polite and prompt. Thank you.
The Meal was very good, I had a salmon dish it was cook very well. Not dry and great taste. Service was great.
The establishment would benefit by hiring servers and staff who are or at least seem to be interested in serving customers. It took us 10 minutes to get seated - with a reservation and in an empty restaurant Even tho there were 3 serves, we waited to place our order only to find out subsequently that the order was not sent to the kitchen. Once received the food was good; the bill arrived quickly when it was requested.
Not sure i'd recommend this facility to others
We had such a lovely time, the food was awesome, it was nice and quiet, the service was friendly and quick. We have been here several times this summer, and sat out on the patio and it is beautiful, you almost forget you are still in the city. We brought family with us this time and hey said they would definitely like to come back again. Maybe on a Wednesday evening for some entertainment as well!!
We booked the patio but could not use the patio menu to watch a concert. The waiter was not very friendly.
The portions were small, especially the main course and even the dessert. If you’re hungry I would not recommend this place.
We enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch on the patio. The food was good! We all had the pork belly Benedict and the eggs were prepared perfectly. Service was a little slow and not overly friendly but we will be back. More pros than cons. :)
We were unsure what our evening would bring as the service was very disorganized while waiting to be seated and for approx 10min after we sat down. However once our waiter was established, the evening was fantastic. Our waiter suggested beer/wine selections and they were great. PEI Mussels, and the bannock & butter were ordered as appetizers and we would definitely order them again! On a side note - sourdough bread (also amazing) is complimentary with the table so keep this in mind!
One entree was the Bison tenderloin and was most certainly the best meal in both presentation and taste that we’ve had. The other entree was a special for the evening - beef tenderloin. Also extremely tasty and beautifully presented.
Overall a fantastic atmosphere and food was over the top excellent. A small snag with staffing at the beginning but this may become a go-to restaurant for us.
This is one of Calgary's best kept secrets, and as a fairly regular patron, I am quite pleased about that! It is quiet, a table is usually available, and the service is lovely! It is an unusual setting in that one is greeted by an antique car, and is conscious of the railway memorabilia and great local pieces of art.
A real gem of a place!
It was nice to sit on a patio enjoying the warm summer night with good food and a glass of wine.
It was a very enjoyable meal, although it was a little expensive, so it would be reserved for a special occasion for us.
The appetizer, meal and wine were all wonderful.
The only thing I wouldn’t do again would be dessert. If it had been fresh it would have been great, and I understand why it can’t be, but the dessert I had (the vanilla cherry bomb) you could tell more than you should have.
Amazing food at a beautiful location, service was quick and food nicely presented.
