Inspired by her flavorful travels, Candy DeBartolo set out to bring something different to North Tampa’s food scene: a dining destination where everything that happens around the table is considered sacred—a place where every detail matters. Together with her team of passionate experts, she opened Sacred Pepper to provide the community with new twists on classic favorites in an inviting atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients and made-from-scratch pastas and sauces highlight a Contemporary American menu with dashes of Mediterranean flair. Cocktails are inspired by cultures from around the world as well as modern, traditional, and pre-prohibition tastes.

We have come to Sacred Pepper for our Birthdays and Anniversary since they opened. We have always given them a five star rating in the past, this time, even though the food was outstanding, the service, while not bad, was not up to Sacred Peppers usual standards. For starters, we had finished our appetizer and were waiting for our meal, when I realized we never received any bread. I asked the waiter why not, and he seemed surprised, and said he’d get it out right away. We actually received it after our entree. In the past we’ve not had to ask for bread and it came out with our drinks. The second disappointment was normally the waiter has always asked us if we were here for a special occasion, and when we told him, we always received a small complimentary dessert. This time the waiter never asked, and when we were done eating, he asked us if we wanted dessert. I was going to say nothing, as I assumed Sacred Pepper had stopped doing that. However my wife asked and the waiter again seemed surprised and provided the complimentary dessert. Again, nothing bad, just not up to the normal standards. I suspect part of the problem is we felt rushed. Every dinner we’ve had there in the past took about 2 hours from sit down until we signed the check. This time dinner lasted 1 hour from the time we were seated until I signed the check. We felt like food was coming out very fast, with no time to talk and relax, which may have affected the service.
This was my first visit. I made reservations for my husband's birthday. Everything was great. We loved the ambiance. It is a little loud, so if you came for an intimate setting to chat, you might have some trouble. My only observation for improvement was although I made reservations I still had to wait for a good little bit for a table.
What a great anniversary dinner, food was outstanding, atmosphere was great with live musician playing Motown, Jazz, favorites. Terrance did a great job taking care to make sure we were enjoying our dining experience. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, grea experience, we will be back. Going to try the Sacred Sunday, next time.
Food, ambiance & service was outstanding! We will definitely be back!
Went for our anniversary and there are no regrets. This is our 3rd visit and we are so pleased. Hubby had ribeye with. Parmesan crust and it was divine. The steak was the star. They serve you about 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes and it was perfect. More meat is always a plus.
I had the Chilean sea bass that was cooked to pure perfection. It was paired with just right aspagus and a corn medley that had tilamock cheese. No regrets here and will return again and again.
We had a table for six and enjoyed the overall experience. The menu offered a good choice and was reasonably priced. The service was very good - our waitress had a good personality and nice sense of humor.
Overall it was a good experience. We weren't expecting a live band, so had to shout the entire time which was annoying. Drinks were great, apps were tasty, and everyone enjoyed their food except my husband who ordered the Veal Chop Milanese which came out so thick and fatty. Veal Chop Milanese should be pounded very thin.
Noise level too loud for conversation but we tolerated it because the band was talented.
Very nice will be back
We loved the food, service and drinks. However on Fridays they have a live band that is extremely loud- it makes it very difficult to have any conversation
Made a reservation for a date night on Friday. The atmosphere was great and the food was phenomenal!
Great food and a very talented live music act was in the lounge making conversation in the bar perhaps difficult but not in the adjacent dining room. Service was great and a team effort which is always a good sign of a well oiled machine. This is always a great place for date night.
The service was superb! The food was outstanding! And they had awesome live entertainment!! Definitely will make the drive back !!
Food was especially good.....it is a bit pricey but food, atmosphere and service was great. My new favorite restaurant!!
I have always had wonderful experiences at this restaurant. Good, service, etc. has always been outstanding.
Food, service and ambience were excellent. Easy to get in and out of restaurant in very reasonable amount of time.
There are no words for how awesome this place is. Jess was amazing and had great recommendations, Chad the resteraunt manager came over to see how everything was (he was very friendly and professional). The food was amazing! I tried the Calamari, Prime Ribeye, lobster tail, and the house salad and I couldn’t find one thing I would change. Best meal Iv ever had! Highly recommend and very much wish there was one in the Dallas area!
Excellent as usual!!
We were seated in the sports bar, a room that is too small for the number of tables and
1) the acoustics are such that there is an intolerable level of noise in that room, which makes it impossible to carry on a conversation with table companions, or to converse with the waiters at less than a shouting level.
2) Also, the lighting was so poor that it was necessary to utilize the cell phone light in order to be able to read the menu.
3) The waiter assigned to our table was apparently OJTing; he tried valiantly to keep up with the serving order, however, his efforts did not match expectations.
Our important dining-out occasion was marred by the above descried factors, and and we shall refrain from a future dining experience at the SP.
On a previous occasion we were seated in the main dining room, where civilized conversation was possible, and where the service was good.
Amazing meal with great service....Naelly was phenomenal!!
Barbara was our server - very nice.
Foo excellent-had special- Tile fish w/ tasty sauce-Brussel sprouts & quinoa as side - yummy. Crab cake appetizer- always great & our go to app.
The overall experience was good. Food was good. We felt a little rushed though. Our server came back to our table too frequently and seemed to be pushing us to move on. Outside of that it was pretty good and we will likely be back.
What is a Reservation for , when you have to wait 20 minutes after your a signed time. My table service wasn't the best.
This was our first time at Sacred Pepper. I had to adjust our reservation time. Their website made that very easy to do. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We definitely look forward to our next visit.
Love Sacred Pepper. It's a beautiful place to dine, dance and enjoy LIFE around the table.
seating was not comfortable also table too small. Food was ok but the main entree not exactly was I expected
The food is delicious and is easy to customize to take into account allergies and preferences. Walker was our waiter and the service was excellent! Allon Sams is always very entertaining and he usually has a very talented singer Ashley Smith. This time Cienna Alida joined Allon for a few numbers. She has a beautiful voice and a lovely smile. Great evening!
Sacred Pepper is one of our favorite restaurants. The only negative I could say about this visit was the musician was a little loud for dining conversation. But he was good.
Two people in our party ordered chicken entrées and they were so dry they were inedible. The server didn’t show much interest in equalizing the situation.
NY Eve & Birthday celebration. Excellent
Have been there before and always enjoyed it. Went with a group for New Years Eve and it was awesome! Great food, drinks and entertainment. Awesome service thanks to Andrew. Champagne for everyone on the house st midnight. Perfect night for our whole group - thanks Sacred Pepper!
I am in the interiors business and this is one of the best venue's and design of hospitality project I have seen in a long time! Just beautiful.
Food was authentic, great cuisine and comfy special atmosphere-A perfect blend.
Love the live music! A special touch.
New Year’s Eve
1st time at Sacred Pepper - Went for New Year's Eve - had a great experience. Pace of dining was excellent even though they were very busy. Great menu, good wine list and our fish selections were excellent - Grouper Picatta and Salmon. Finished it off with some fresh pressed coffee and some Lemoncello.
Can't wait to go back and try the pasta dishes. Highly recommend.
For the 5th year in a row, my husband, mother and stepfather made reservations for Sacred Pepper for New Year’s Eve. Up until this evening we had exemplary service, exquisite food and wine selection. Unfortunately, Sacred Pepper must either be under new management or has allowed their manager to burn out to the point of an inability to service, satisfy or even demonstrate professionalism.
In a mishap between waiter, kitchen and GM, after ordering a bottle of wine and several appetizers, we received our appetizers and proceeded to wait over 20 minutes for our bottle of wine. As the intention was to drink our wine with our appetizer, we waited for the wine delivery before digging into the apps.
We had to call over the waiter to see what was causing the delay at which time we expressed our dissatisfaction with the level of service provided. He told us that the GM was looking for our bottle of wine.
Eventually the GM showed up at our table with the bottle of wine and a hostile and disrespectful attitude larger than anyone in a service industry role should have. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the level of service and the lack of consideration for our now cold appetizers the GM proceeded to question my stepfather as to what career he is in and questioned whether he had ever worked in a restaurant. He then continued to tell us his years of restaurant service and that his behavior and the timing of the evening was completely acceptable in his opinion.
Ultimately we proceeded with our meal and were comp’d the appetizers, but the behavior demonstrated by the GM this evening is enough to tell us that Sacred Pepper has lost it’s edge. It is no longer a restaurant with well trained, considerate and knowledgeable staff, but rather a collection of egos and insensitivity that does not deserve my dollar.
After 5 years, we will be changing our New Years traditions next year.
Had a great New Years Eve at SP. started with Sacred Meatballs and they were delicious. Moved on to the raw oyster platter — cold, fresh, perfect. We had steaks prepared just as we requested. The music was a diverse mix of popular songs and the saxophone added to a great sound. Will return for sure!!
Once again we were wowed with the food, locale and service at the Sacred Pepper!
Eaten here many times for work and pleasure. Service and ambience are great.
This time I’d mention two things to adjust.
The live musician was too loud and overpowering. It was difficult for my wife and I to have a normal volume conversation.
Also, I tried the short ribs but found them on the bland side. Was hoping the ribs would be more flavorful. Historically we’ve enjoy the other dishes so the overall menu is good.
Everything was great the food and service
Looking forward to eating there again
