This was our anniversary and we have always loved the chop house. A top notch server, Nick Slyman took care of us for the evening and was extremely cordial and attentive. Can’t wait to have our next visit there!

To stand out in the competitive KC barbecue scene of the mid 1970's, Jack and Delores, began cooking with Gourmet Hickory Wood and created the most extensive barbecue menu in the country. The menu included Certified Angus Beef steaks, tender chicken, award-winning lamb ribs, and mouth-watering sides like Hickory Pit Beans and Cheesy Corn Bake.

This is a beautiful place, pristinely clean, with a bright airy feel and top-notch service. Everyone we interacted with was warm and friendly, and our server was a true hospitality professional. He was present without hovering, made excellent suggestions, and walked us through the menu brilliantly. It was nice to see some wines that don't appear on every menu in the city. The surprise bubbly toast at the end of our meal was a lovely way to wrap up the evening. Thank you for a truly wonderful experience!
