We have dined here twice in the last couple of weeks. Both times the food was exceptional as was the service. This is now my favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, could be a little formal for some. There were some foreign diners at the restaurant who thought they were at Margaritaville instead of a fine local restaurant. Highly recommended.

The grounds are beautiful. Very Tahitian Service was impeccable Ordered the pulpo banderillas, mussels, and the rib eye with grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious. Got free dessert for my husband’s birthday also very good. Highly recommended

Makal is hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to in Puerto Vallarta and I’ve been to a lot! We came here for my birthday and did the tasting menu, and it was absolutely incredible. Every dish was so thoughtful and full of flavor, from the ensalada criolla to pancita de lechon. The presentation was beautiful and everything tasted amazing. Their cocktails are also great, my favorite was the Tuba Makal. Super refreshing and unique. Highly recommend doing the tasting menu if you go. The service was excellent and the whole experience felt really special. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

We’re a casual and cozy restaurant serving up Asian small plates—from fun improvisations on that theme to faithful renditions of classic dishes that we love. We love the name “Bonito” because it’s both the Spanish word for “beautiful” and the name of one of the most important fish in Japanese cuisine. Thus, it’s the perfect name for a restaurant that seeks to explore the shared traits in the cuisines of Vallarta and Vietnam, delving into our mutual love for funk, citrusy brightness, and carefully calibrated spice.

This location is in Zona Romántica right next to the beautiful 200-year-old Banyan Tree. Comfortable air-conditioned dining room and a gorgeous outdoor garden provide the perfect setting for all occasions.

Our most popular items are ramen, pho, pork belly bao, soft-shell crab bao, coconut shrimp rolls, summer rolls, green papaya salad, potstickers, lobster dumplings, pork belly dumplings, teriyaki salmon, Korean BBQ beef, and green curry.

One of our very favorite places to eat in Puerto Vallarta. The garden setting is beautiful and the plates are creative and delicious. The wine list is not large, but has excellent selections at very reasonable prices. Just a wonderful restaurant.
