The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the flavor of the rice and beans, and the 'Flan de Mel' was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Chef José Santaella has trained with some of the best chefs in the world, including Ferrán Adriá, Eric Ripert, and Gary Danko. His apprenticeships and successful catering career paved the way for Santaella, his signature restaurant in Santurce's La Placita Marketplace. The decor is rustic yet elegant, with exposed walls, Edison light fixtures, an interior garden, and a sparkling bar. Chef Santaella fuses local and international ingredients to perfectly execute Puerto Rican nouvelle cuisine. The menu is dominated by tapas, which you can easily make into a meal. Favorites include the ahi tuna skewers, goat cheese quesadilla, 'alcapurrias' topped with crab, and foie gras terrine with fruit jelly . The food was amazing, we got the seafood stew and the fried red snapper and everything tasted fresh. The portions were big so come with an empty stomach. Our server was amazing he made sure we had everything we needed but didn’t hover while we ate so we didn’t feel uncomfortable. Their cocktails were also nice we had the pina colada and strawberry mojitos

I thought the place was a bit far. But once we were there, the experience was excellent. Beautiful grounds... ample seating (thank goodness for the reservations)... excellent food.. and the service was wonderful. They accept any number of tickets (tabs)... the food was served quickly... and the waitress (Daniela) was very attentive. I can't say enough good things about this place.
